It’s exceptionally sad to make this comparison, but some of the similarities are striking. Consider these elements of Spain’s situation in 1936 in the light of recent American history.
1) After exceptional violence from the left in the leadup to the general elections, big questions were raised after an exceptionally close result. Antony Beevor in his classic book, The Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War 1936-1939, said that Spain’s election was decided by 150,000 votes out of 10 million voters. While Biden’s popular vote margin was larger, his margin of victory in several swing states was very small, and audits and disputes underway potentially could erase his electoral vote margin.
Nobody questions the violence and intimidation in Spain, while leftist Historians all refuse to ask whether the result was rigged…as has recently been suggested by 2 eminent researchers. A proper investigation was never done.
2) The incoming Socialist Government immediately started a radical social reform program. Economic reform, police reform, a purge of the military, nd legal reform, all with great benefits to “their side” and nothing but pain for the rest.
3) The potential for legal recourse was short-circuited
4) The influence of foreign states in the leadup to the Election. Nobody would argue Stalin’s USSR wasn’t massively funding the Socialist left and the Anarchists in 1936. Where did Stalin’s quote about “who counts the Votes” come from?
5) The influence of massive propaganda campaigns. CNN, Facebook, or Google anybody?
6) The election occurred during a period of massive social change. The Great Depression for Spain and a Pandemic in the US.
7) a rejection of Religion. Anti-Catholic sentiment was at fever pitch.
8) Both sides truly hated each other.

The propagandists in the MSM should be the first to be neutralized in any coming revolution.
The big difference is Spain was not a world dominant super-power.
Which makes the U.S.A. a bigger, juicer target for foreign funding and intervention.
The Chinese had an enormous amount to lose if Donald Trump was elected to a second term, as did the American Media and Deep State.
See Tagline.
The rejection of religion, like many of the issues in Spain, was regional; the Basques who supported the Republic didn’t massacre their priests and nuns. They, like Catalonia, wanted independence - which made a cohesive strategy all but impossible.
If you look at how the media covered the Spanish Civil War, you can see Fake News and SJW.
Hemingway was attacked in the media until he backed the Communists and then he was their hero.
While this is an interesting article. The statement that “Biden's popular vote margin was larger” is an outrageous lie. If someone believes that Hidin Biden managed to get more votes than President Trump in this last election when neither he or his running mate could get any one to show up other than the press at their rallies... then I tend to discount the rest of what they say. We are suppose to believe that he got the most votes in the history of the country by a wide margin when even now there is very little enthusiasm for his administration. It is outrageous.
Academia is the mother of all swamps from which journalists and broadcasters are molded...
That book is excellent.
Biden didn’t need enthusiasm. People who would vote for any Democrat and people who hated Trump could have added up to a majority, and that hate was more of a motivator than just sort of liking Trump was. Democrats got more popular votes than Republicans in five out of six of the last elections, so it’s not impossible that they did so again. It’s clear that the Democrats cheated in five or six key states, but not impossible that they had more popular votes in the country.
Our enemies also study history. The big difference is the military. The Spanish army was stanchly conservative and Christian.
The Biden regime is making sure to purge the military of any threats before they impose socialism.
Nuff said?
We don’t have a Franco in Morocco who could bring an army to rescue us.
Yeah I have heard that one before.
Lets look at the last six elections.
2000 - GW Shrub vs Al Gore... not much enthusiasm for either candidate. Gore supposedly got 543,000 more votes than Shrub.
2004 - GW Shrub vs John Kerry. Bush the Republican won by 3,012,000
2008 - Obama vs McCain. There was very little enthusiasm for McCain and a lot for Obama. The only draw for most of us here was Sarah Palin.
2012 - Obama vs Romney. Even Romney's dog voted against him. No real enthusiasm here.
2016 - Trump vs Hillary. Supposedly Hillary won the popular vote by over 2 million. She actually had a lot of enthusiasm behind her... big rallies, crazed leftist women turning out in droves to elect the first woman President. They even had a television show called Madam Secretary where she was portrayed as the smartest woman in the world. And she still most likely cheated her butt off.
2020 - Trump vs Biden. Trump pulled in huge crowds... Biden virtually no enthusiasm, few rallies and the ones he did have typically had a few dozen people show up and most of the spectators were media and secret service. But Biden supposedly got the highest turnout in the country's history and the highest percentage of the popular vote in 120 years. That does not pass the sniff test.
Biden supposedly got over 2/3rds of the vote and over 12 million more votes than even Obama during his first election. In that election Obama received the most votes ever recorded in this country by many many millions.
Sorry pal it does not fly!
Well, it used to be one of the first things seized in a revolution were the tv and radio stations. Now that we’re in the internet age, I guess one would have to add all the tech HQs in Silicon Valley and Washington state to that list.
120 years? More than FDR, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan? 12 years would be more like it. Obama got 52.93%. Biden supposedly got 51.31%.
Another factor is that minor party candidates got about 5% of the vote last time and about 2% this time. Most of those votes went to Biden.
81 million votes for Biden does seem unrealistic, but some voters turned on Trump because of Covid, while hatred of Trump was a very strong motivator for Democrats.
I'm not sure what to think. It's possible that Biden did get more popular votes, and it's not impossible that Trump got more popular votes, though it's less likely than that he won more electoral votes if fraud hadn't happened.
“...but some voters turned on Trump because of Covid ...”
Regarding COVID I think Trump was in a Lose-Lose situation. He would have lost more votes if he had taken the rational apporoach to COVID then votes he lost following the CDC induced path he took.
One good thing to come out of the Spanish Civil War was George Orwell. He went in to fight for the Communists and experienced their lies first hand. That was enough for him to write about tyranny in his novels.
Sorry got my numbers crossed on the quote.
The last election supposedly had a 66.7% turnout which was the highest since 1900. Biden had no enthusiasm and they had to manufacture and switch a massive number of votes to steal the election. Of course this was most blatant in the swing states.
