NATO regularly sends bombers skirting along the Russian-borders and airspace. US destroyers are now regular visitors to the Black Sea and Odessa.

I guess the message is - we can do it to.

I don’t know...we won’t even pressure China on the origins of COVID. If they won’t do the most basic and obvious things to protect us how could they summon resolve to confront the Russians?

Its hard to sleep well at night with this crew of radicals in charge. I have no confidence in any of them.

Ours and perhaps theirs, too. This is showing that the Russians have the capability for a long range naval squadron. They are not planning any attack. They want us to understand if we can do it, they can too.

I understand that. I was just puzzling over the timing and wondering why Putin would think it was needed today. Of course I can imagine all sorts of things, but was curious what you thought about the timing. Why now and not any other time during the last 20 years?
