Screwing-up in Reverse: Happy Discoveries that Might be Helpful or Interesting to Other Freepers

On my last grocery store trip, I was distracted by the disturbingly large number of people still wearing masks and bought the wrong iced tea.

Instead of buying my beloved Arizona Green Tea with Honey, I bought their RX Stress Herbal Iced Tea.

I was skeptical to try it, but I didn't have any other iced tea to drink when I got home.

I am glad that I screwed up and got the wrong iced tea. Not only did it taste really good and healthy (although I am sure it is not nearly as healthy as it tastes), it actually did seem to promote tranquility without sleepiness.

Can't recall how I arrived at it but I found adding a little bit of Worcestershire Sauce to tuna fish made it tastes really good.

And we still seek out “Nestea” and buy it in bulk when we do find it. 22 jars the last time, 50 times this time

This great project came to mind when I got some interest in the cheap bust-a-can biscuits. In this one, every thing came from the local Walmart;s, involving the Great Value products:
o Jumbo Flaky Biscuits (16 oz/98 cents, the basis)

o Spaghetti sauce (88 cents per 24 oz, 3.7 cents/oz)

o Finely Shredded Mozarella Cheese ($1,98/8 oz, 24.8 cents/oz

o Original Pepperoni Slices ($2.246oz, 32.7 cents/oz)

o Pitted Black Olives (can) ($1.23/6 oz, 20.5 cents/oz)
The object of this project is to make a personal pizza out of each of the eight (8) raw biscuits in each can. Here's the process:
- take one biscuit and by hand, thin it out into a larger diameter thinner disk without breaking the dough. Half again the diameter is a starting point, which would make the pre-baked dough about half as thick.

- When you've got the dough enlarged, put it in the cookie sheet. All eight will fit on it. (98 cents)

- Spoon 1 to 2 teaspoons of spaghetti sauce onto the middle of the biscuit and spread it around . (11 cents)

\ - Sprinkle a good dose of mozarella onto each biscuit. (about 50 cents worth, total)

- Arrange 3 slices of pepperoni, side bu side, onto the top of each biscuit. (about 57 cents worth, total)

- cut some olives in half, putting one half-olive onto each piece of pepperoni. (about 35 cents)
Altogether, that's about $2.50 for the whole, or a little more than 49 cents per personal pizza when baked. Pop the tray into the middle rack of the preheated 400 deg F oven for about 13 minutes. Going longer will make the back side burnt, but they will still taste good.

I enjoyed them. Four meals for a bachelor. They warm up in the microwave real well, much better that a slice of store pizza.

I wish I could show you my pictures of them. Mmmm!

When I worked at Best Buy, a woman came in asking for help to find a holder for her phone so she could watch videos while on her exercise bike and also use the same holder in her car while talking on the phone, and elsewhere. After looking all over the store for her solution and knowing that Best Buy did not have something to sell her, I gave her a $2 solution.

You buy some children’s modelling clay and put it in a ziplock plastic bag. You can form it into whatever shape you need for the exercise bike, then form it into the shape you need for your car, and again the shape you need for the kitchen table. No grease from your hands gets on the clay, change the plastic ziploc once in a while, you’re golden. A $2 solution to a $40 problem. She was grateful.

Evidently I’m not the first to discover the deal.

Yeah, me too. I liked the Nacho kind, but the price doesn't matter if they're always gone. Dollar Tree has them for a buck a bag, and plenty of them.
