If you'd been able to stare at Earth from space during the late Cretaceous, when Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops roamed, it would've looked like the whole planet had tipped over on its side.
According to a new study, Earth tilted by 12 degrees about 84 million years ago....
The researchers found that, between 86 and 79 million years ago, the crust and mantle had rotated around Earth's outer core and back again — causing the entire planet to tilt and then right itself like a roly-poly toy....
...Prior to the late Cretaceous, the Pacific Plate — the largest tectonic plate on Earth spanning 40 million square miles under the Pacific Ocean — was sinking under another plate to its north. Around 84 million years ago....

Let’s throw out there millions and millions and millions of years.
Add an unprovable imaginative theory.
We now have yet another attempt to disprove the Great Flood.
To: blueplum
Now how the heck do they know what happened 80+ billion years ago????
This is more Fake Science....
Tell us you really know....

"but what about Guam?"
It had no problem back then, because there were no people.

The researchers found that, between 86 and 79 million years ago, the crust and mantle had rotated around Earth's outer core and back again — causing the entire planet to tilt and then right itself like a roly-poly toy.... Read Charles Hapgood...he proposed this decades ago and wrote quite a few good books. He was laughed off as a kook...looks like he's right. He considered that ice ages were the result of the earths' crust doing exactly this.
To: blueplum
Wow! And they laughed when someone asked if Guam can tip over!

Well there is... But no one would listen or accept it. The far western cliffs of Ireland are a northern point of the Appalachian mountains as just one example...

Reading the article I couldn’t tell whether the writer is trying to tell us that the earth and its rotational axis tilted an extra 12 degrees or the earth remained stable, but started rotating on an axis tilted 12 degrees from its previous rotational axis.

I remember reading in SAGA magazine from around 1969, how the earth’s magnetic poles will shift and the crust of the earth will float over the core! When the magnetic field settles no telling where you will be on the earth.
Between 86 and 79 million. That is seven million years. A mighty long time!
