Amazon has been hiring hundreds of thousands of workers for roles in its warehouses, which it calls fulfillment centers, but those employees have been quitting almost as fast as they can be hired, according to a huge report from The New York Times published on Tuesday.
Many of the over 350,000 workers Amazon hired from July to October stayed with the company "just days or weeks," the report said.

Bullshit. Amazon treats people like trash. Got a dick, piss in a bottle, no pee break.
They are true. I know numerous employees.
I suggest folks stop buying from amazon. Plenty of small buisness out there.

Will a small business deliver a $10 item to my house in 2 days? Free shipping of course. I only live 10 miles outside a town with a population of 900.
There was an article over the last few days that said Amazon was having 150% turnover per year in an average warehouse.
Said warehouses employ up to a thousand, and are often in small areas.
You end up with no work force pretty quickly.
I know. I used to work for ADM in the bad old days
Of course it is. Did you not notice how they so carefully avoided asking why all these people are quitting?
Even people who really want to work cannot survive the brutality they are subjected to as Amazon employees.
Yes, it is an easy problem to fix. Raise the wage a bit, hire a few more people so they can ease the quota a bit and generally treat the employees like people.
Problem solved at the cost of, probably, less than 1% of profits.
I saw some news short at the gas pump about bots and Amazon.
Some people do have excellent work ethics, but Amazon uses metrics where you basically have to be in the top third of the human population for physical fitness, but they don’t pay accordingly.
Unfortunately, you can’t whip slaves anymore!
Try shopping local. Maybe suggest to some shopkeepers some of the more commonly ordered items.
Is it that the rules suck (bathroom breaks, water, food) or is it that people just don’t want to work? I used to load trucks all day in a warehouse that went from 75 degrees in the production area to 95 in the loading area to 115 on the actual trucks. Never bothered me as a teen or in my 20s.
What do they do with the bodies?
I have a similar experience. 12 miles to a town of 15,000 with shopping limited to little more that a WalMart and a small Safeway. A former logging town in Oregon.
Sounds like he already does. There is an Amazon distribution center near where I work and we frequently interview folks from there and no one thinks it's a great place to work
Amazon makes no money selling products. AWS makes all the money.
Does it have anything to with Amazon being control freaks?
Maybe they can make a deal with china to get some of those Uyghurs.
amazon is one of the worst sweatshops around, digitally micromonitoring every move by its warehouse pickers and delivery drivers, and abusing their knowledge workers until they collapse from burnout ...
Not just quitting....Every one of them bitches and moans about how bad working there is.... So,a few that might have thought about working there,go elsewhere...
Amazing how none of these centers are hit by looters.....
