Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system has leaked online today. After screenshots were first published at Chinese site Baidu, the entire Windows 11 OS has appeared online, complete with a new user interface, Start menu, and lots more.
The new Windows 11 user interface and Start menu look very similar to what was originally found in Windows 10X. Microsoft had been simplifying Windows for dual-screen devices, before canceling this project in favor of Windows 11. Visually, the biggest changes you’ll notice can be found along the taskbar. Microsoft has centered the app icons here, cleaned up the tray area, and included a new Start button and menu.
This updated Start menu is a simplified version of what currently exists in Windows 10, without Live Tiles. It includes pinned apps, recent files, and the ability to quickly shut down or restart Windows 11 devices. It’s really a lot more simplified than what exists in Windows 10 today.
If you don’t want the app icons and Start menu centered, there’s an option to move them all back to the left-hand side. Coupled with the dark mode that’s also available, and Windows 11 starts to look like a more refined version of Windows 10 than something dramatically new.

it told me it would ‘need’ 2.3 gig or something like that lol- i uninstalled it, but it’s still in my task bar-
Keep in mind that 999 out of 1000 cannot do this, nor have the knowledge to do this.
And should not have to in order to make it work right.
Yes, it is 850 something install. But “wants” 2.9 gigs as it’s total for storage “if needed”. Probably not use much if there is not a lot in it. But it handles it’s own image file folders also so that would not take long to fill up 3 gigs.
Good point. I partition the drive because it makes it a lot easier to backup, synchronize and encrypt my data. Maybe allowing Windows to run more smoothly is an unforeseen benefit.

Thanks to Red Badger for the ping!
More like 9 out of 10. They're consumers, most don't know how many cylinders their car's engine has, they probably don't know how to check the oil level. But 1 in 10 does, same with computers.
> And should not have to in order to make it work right.
We've come a long way from when Windows drives HAD to be partitioned to work at all. It became easier for everybody to just shove everything into the C: drive. But that's dumb and inefficient and many other bad things (like making it harder to back up). Having everything in one partition makes it NOT work right.
Why don't all those people build their house with no walls, and just throw all their furniture and clothes and food and toys and entertainment devices... into ONE BIG ROOM?
Putting everything in C: is just wrong. But like liberalism, it allows people to not have to think.
Thinking is hard, you know what I mean?
Windows 10 works fine. I’m still using Paintshop Pro 5 from 1998, Office Pro 2010, and still playing Silent Hunter, Wolves of the Pacific. Oh yeah, and I’m still playing Windows 7 games which can be downloaded from winaero.com.
Yes I do know exactly what you mean... Saw a counter top oven advertised this morning that even has a camera inside to take an image of the food you put in and then tell you what it is on a front panel. Potato, Carrot, Broccoli, Etc. With an app and device sync of course. I was blown away... Who would actually need food recognition software???
OK, how about 900 out of a 1000? Or 90 out of a 100?
I get it... 10% who can deal with more complicated PC issues is more realistic. But that still leaves that 90% :)
We just went through that C: drive backup thing with a friend who had Win 10. Almost two full days... but it was a big full drive and I think we had some data transfer speed issues. But once you pull that trigger and get half way...
It actually makes sense to do what you do. I think it really would make a difference. The MS wise Dayglord agrees also it looks like. That is pretty much a standard protocol with linux installs. Three partitions or volumes... System, Swap, and Home user files. But even adding a fourth “archive/data” partition or volume would not be a bad idea either.
I think you have been dodging a bullet with your wise habit Sir... :)
I’m gonna keep using 7 until nothing I use runs on it anymore.
Then I’ll probably go back to console gaming.
As soon as I saw China had this, I told myself they put a lot of spyware in that program. Heck, they would be listening to all conversations in your home unless you turn the microphone and camera off.
That really did make me laugh out loud!
> once you pull that trigger and get half way... [backup]
Exactly. And the more that has to get backed up in one huge lump, the more likely one little problem or data error is going to foul the whole thing.
There ya go, my favorite!
Yay... Center bar icons... One of the things I most despite about the Mac Dock...
Looks like it is going with a Linux look.
They better not attempt to force the upgrade again... then many of us will have to go to 100% Linux (or mac) instead of 80% Linux (20% Winblows for games).
Idiot. “Despise”... WTH is wrong with you?
A lot of folks did after the Win 8/8.1 vs Win 10 nonsense.
The business space will most likely stay divided as it is.
Reminds me... I need to try tying AAD to an i389 directory... Ought to be painful...
LOl, it’s real! And they even flash a pretty colored image of a Potato or Carrot in the screen with the text label potato or Carrot under it! Looked like a first grade reading book page... “This is a picture of a Carrot, these are the letters that make the word Carrot”.
Saw it on a PBS cooking show and I have been searching for that model oven all morning! lol
That is what I thought too, The menu looks like the standard pop out Linux menu.
