If the Republican Party is to survive in the years to come, it cannot remain the lesser of two Big Government evils.
The Republican Party is sitting on a goldmine if only it has a lick of sense to notice (too much to ask?). If it positions itself as a strong advocate for personal freedom right now, it will become the natural home for all Americans (of all backgrounds) who object to the growing shadow of government authority. That conflict between total State power and individual liberty is at the heart of all policy battles being fought today — from the West's omnipotent surveillance state and its quixotic pursuit of amorphous "extremists" hiding behind every door to its experimental vaccine mandates and climate change fear-mongering intentionally used to justify government control over the economy. If there were any doubts as to how threatened Americans' liberties now are in the twenty-first century, the last year of arbitrary lockdowns, forced economic ruin, and suspension of constitutional rights dispelled those doubts for good. The war pitting personal autonomy against State coercion will define the decades to come.
It is clear which side the Democrats have chosen. They are the party of bigger and more expansive government intent on intruding into the personal lives, thoughts, and choices of every American. They are the party of new and bigger taxes and a more powerful and politicized IRS. They are the party of Big Business, so long as those businesses adhere to the State's official messaging and promote the State's official goals. They are the party of Big Tech and Big Media, both of which have become instrumental to the Democrats' control over information and their throttling of Americans' free speech.

Be the party of freedom. Is it too much to ask????
We can ask with one hand and wish in the other. The Stupid Party, as currently constituted and run, will not do that.
How about the party of truth? I have been fed a steady diet of lies by the Uniparty (R) for fifty years. If only Trump had realized what a pack lying, backstabbing vipers he was associating himself with when he joined the Uniparty (R). It was not the Uniparty (D) that destroyed Trump, the constitution and MAGA. The fifth columnists in Trump’s administration and Congress are responsible. You cannot reform the Uniparty (R) without somehow eliminating 95% of Uniparty (R) politicians and bureaucrats in DC. Ask Trump what happens when you attempt to encroach upon the Uniparty (R) swamp in DC.
When I see mobs of Black, Hispanic, and Asian voters in the streets demanding individual liberty, then I will believe it.
Until then, 70%-75% of legal ethnic voters will continue to vote Democrat.
Yes. A focus on Truth. And, I think, smaller government. I don’t want to be lied to or manipulated.
Liberty Yes, Libertarian-ism, Hell no....
WORKING class party. A Nationalist Party. Trade Protectionist Party, yes to all of those. The GOP should go back to the 1924 party platform...
REPUBLICANS are cowards, liars, protectors of
sedition, treason, rape, child rape, counterfeiting,
and sell out their own voters ... on a dime.
The Uniparty belongs in GITMO.
Freedom, unless defined, is neither good nor evil. We are in the midst of a battle over its meaning and substance, with both Democrats and Republicans largely clueless and unable to articulate sound truths.
Do the Uniparty / GOP have someone paraphrase the same bullsh!t every few months?
If they really wanted liberty, they’d focus entirely on election security. Once done, they’d pre-write bills and Constitutional amendments that would tear down every aspect of the deep state, then say “vote”.
“Party of Liberty” are regurgitated words. They are not going to get us freedom. Never have in my lifetime, and never will.
No.
All the GOP has to do is:
1. Stop trying to be like the “cool kids”/DEMOCRATS
2. Stop LYING to their constituents
3. Realize that their job is NOT to “lead” the people who elect them but rather- TO REPRESENT them.
Of course, it would take a LOT to ever get me to trust them ever again. I doubt if I ever will. And... I really don’t think they CARE...
Yes. See Screen-name and Tagline.
Ah, a bunch of democrat losers telling us what we need to be.
Thanks guys. We will get right on your great suggestions … NOT.
Please enjoy ya’lls trip back to the democrat underground !!!
The party of liberty must run against the party of free stuff.
Good luck.
Don’t you see what must happen?
Santa must die.
Asking anything of the GOP is asking too much. The party puts on a thin veneer of conservativism every election cycle and goes on to serve the interests of the Uniparty.
IF they had an ounce of principles, courage and conviction they could easily build a platform around one thing: reducing the size and power of what has become an overbearing government. But I have zero confidence in the GOP to do anything supportive of conservative values and beliefs.
The GOP has a golden opportunity in 2022. But even if they somehow (miraculously) take control of the House and Senate nothing that fundamentally changes the government’s power and control over citizens will be different.
The GOP just is what it is.

Please see my #16.
Asking for truth is a bridge too far I’m afraid. Most politicians are professional liars who have been doing it for so long they are simply incapable of being honest or accepting responsibility for anything.
That said, I believe that we must get a firm commitment from the people we vote for to reduce the size of government. It has become an overbearing behemoth that has become deleterious to our way of life.
Our officials must show demonstrable evidence of their efforts to cut back the size of government or we will replace them.
Every person we elect should meet this litmus test IMO. Shrinking the government and restoring federalism is our only chance of saving the republic. If government continues to expand we’re done for.
I really don’t think they CARE...

The care about their political careers. That’s all.
People outside of Washington don’t realize how intoxicating the Swamp really is. Once a politician is elected and discovers all the benefits of staying in Washington they never want to leave.
There’s even a name for it: Potomac Fever.
There is no scenario under which a McConnell/Graham/McCarthy-led party can become a party of liberty. A Trump-led party had some chance of accomplishing this...and look what happened.
