Pierce County Sheriff’s in the state of Washington are asking for its Twitter followers to take a good look at these catalytic converter thieves who hit a family’s Ford F-250, taking the emissions control device in less than 30 seconds.
A dealership in Texas lost 20 catalytic converters in a matter of minutes earlier this week
: a driver and the sawzall operator. They shimmied under the car and snatched up the part in seconds.

Towns should deputize all citizens. Anyone caught in the act of stealing a cat converter can be legally subjected to being shot and death penalty to anyone convicted of the act. Thieves steal because they can get away with it. Bring the hammer down hard on these crooks.

A non existent problem for...........Teslas. Yeah I know they have other problems but not this one.
True. A few years back a buddy bought a new home and decided to get a new pickup truck at the same time. Drove it home and found out it wouldn't fit in the garage.
There are multiple devices available for preventing theft of your catalytic converter. Catstrap, Catshield, Catclamp and Catlock to name a few.

Replacements were then etched. Then the car was stolen for joy rides.
Government officials are getting a piece of the action.
In today's world that's not what's happening; they are selling to organized international crime syndicate and they are shipping whole crates of these overseas. One of the wonders of the internet.

I used to be a news reporter, and I did a story on this 10 years ago. Thieves cut off a bunch of converters from vehicles in the long-term parking lot at the local airport.
And they are able to do so because they pay protection money to government officials.
Like a Nascar pit crew, fine tuned,, jackman, sawman, grab-it-man, watchman.

Around the City,
BIG trucks cruising around at ALL hours going FAST.
I mean BIG trucks, and it seemed many drivers were crazy.
Back in 2006 or so when copper theft was big, the local sheriff in FL posted deputies at the scrap dealers. I believe they also passed a law requiring ID to sell "stuff" to a scrap dealer.
How about those 12 gauge shotgun primer trip wire alarms?
For sale, or DIY instructions on line.
That was fast.
