A company representative said about 98.5% of the millions of rounds of ammo stolen earlier this week were .22 caliber, which is seldom used by Mexican drug cartels.
The total quantity was not clear, but was estimated to be about 7 million rounds. The ammunition is sold in the United States under the Aguila brand.
The ammunition is made in Cuernavaca, a city just south of the capital, and was being taken north on trucks to the United States when the shipment was hijacked, The drivers were later found alive.

Where to go with this.
The drivers were later found alive
...Inside job?
Them white supremacist MAGA muthafakers again. BAN GUNS! BAN ALL OF THEM!
Buy American made ammo. CCI/ Federal/ Remington etc.
That’s kind of what I was thinking too. 😀
It was an american operation to take this ammo.
The drivers are left alive. Thats why.
“Inside job?”
Life is cheap in Mexico. Your guess is probably right.
Aquila makes excellent ammo.
Yeah. I don’t think the cartels have to worry about finding cheap practice ammo.
Another excuse to raise prices and scream shortage. I had no idea Aguila was made in Mexico
The current Aguila plant there is the old Remington plant. Good stuff.
With the Bidinflation taking hold anything with metal, wood, other material content is going to be lifted like never before. Same for finished goods like ammo, semiconductors, refined petroleum products where the Xidenites are destroying the means of production at a quickening rate. Venezuela here we come.
Very good stuff.
I see you’re another Gore recount sign up like me.
Inside job?
Did the Big Guy get his 10%?
How nice, Mexican ammo. I'd bet it's an inside job. Cartels were tipped off.
“Where to go with this”
I wonder how closely BATF monitors the private, online selling of ammo? I wouldn’t suppose the cartels or the American gangs are much interested in .22. Perhaps the criminals just got unlucky. If it wasn’t an inside job, they probably assumed they were getting a mix of calibers.
So only 100,000 bullets weren’t 22s. Doubt it was the cartels then, unless they were working with bad intel.
If it was the cartels, they don’t leave anyone alive.
Could be 22 mini mag HP...Not something I’d want to be hit with. Even a standard 22 round is quite lethal.
I’d bet a cup of coffee someone in the company or maybe the truck drivers are connected to one gangs/cartels. Maybe that’s why the drivers were released alive.
