"Since the symmetry breaking in this experimental system is similar to that in well-known ordinary superconductors and superfluids, the shape of the core of the topological defect, called a quantum vortex, is expected to be round like the eye of a typhoon in a two-dimensional cross section."

"Socks, remotes, and car keys hardest hit."
Surprisingly, reading glasses do not seem affected.

In this research, the idea of applying the Joukowski transform, which is used to calculate the lift of airplane wings, to quantum vortices was introduced for the first time, and the analysis revealed that the most stable state of this mysterious topological defect is a new topological defect called a quantum elliptic vortex. I was going to say that...

“I feel very stupid now. Thanks.”
Remember that one of the most brilliant physicists of all, Richard Feynman, when speaking of quantum mechanics said, “I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics.”
The only choice is to use the math, get answer(s) and after (even as nonsensical as they seem) prove correct, just keep calm and carry on.

My neighbor and I were just talking about this
while we were having a few beers at my firepit.
We finally decided ... “well, it depends”.

Now and again some prankster will submit a “scientific paper” filled with nonsense and gobbledygook, just to see if it would be accepted.
This sounds like one of them (although it’s almost certainly not).

My friends and I frequently discuss this subject, but we dismissed the Joukowski transform, as not relevant to the standard model. 😵💫
