The book explores the existence of white supremacy and cultural appropriation in American yoga. "I would venture to say that everything in our collective society is rooted in white supremacy. I am sure there are many people who would disagree with that, and honestly I don't care because I believe that and I know it's the case," she says.
"I think that we see it show up in a lot of different ways. In the same way it's everywhere else and it has polluted everything else, it's polluted yoga. It's very much a part of how yoga has spread in America. The popularity of yoga really came down to wealthy white people wanting to learn and explore in a very specific way, and that's why yoga has been so white for so long in America."

Following my last post, we just need to divorce these people. Separate completely and give them the northeast and west coast. There is no saving them. They are lost and they are killing our culture and our country. We have no common ground.

It has been 59 years since “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, the novel, and 46 years since the movie. That there was abuse in the mental institutions of the day cannot be denied. BUT why do I think that the inmates now rule the roost? She is crazy Jim!
In that case, the fault lies in the yoga masters that only wanted to teach those people who could afford their outrageous fees!
Or the fault lies in wealthy women wanting to stay in shape for their wealthy partners, or to regain their shape after having babies.
Or maybe it is wealthy white women caring about low impact stretching exercises and wanting to be/stay thin.
So you are jealous of white women (how many men were into yoga when it started, except to pickup chicks?) and you shall become a bitter cat lady as you age.

I normally don’t comment on someone’s physical appearance unless they have decided to play the race/sex/whatever card to accuse others of racism/sexism/whateverism types of things, then all things are fair game.
