More than 170 health care workers at a Houston, Texas, hospital were reportedly suspended for two weeks without pay this week for choosing to not get the coronavirus vaccine by the hospital’s Monday deadline, which the hospital requires of its workers.
The employees will be fired after the two weeks if they don’t get vaccinated, FOX 4 in Dallas reported.
Houston Methodist Hospital President and CEO Marc Boom said that 99% of it more than 25,000 workers had been vaccinated by the deadline.
"It is unfortunate that today’s milestone of Houston Methodist becoming the safest hospital system in the country is being overshadowed by a few disgruntled employees," Boom said in a statement, according to KHOU-TV in Houston.
Boom announced the suspensions in an internal memo obtained by The Washington Post on Tuesday.
"I know that today may be difficult for some who are sad about losing a colleague who’s decided to not get vaccinated," Boom wrote in the memo. "We only wish them well and thank them for their past service to our community, and we must respect the decision they made."

After publicly ridiculing unwilling lab rats with the lable “disgruntled employees”, the hospital said in an internal email, “We only wish them well and thank them for their past service to our community, and we must respect the decision they made.”
Companies can force their employees to take experimental drugs. Until the state government decides that they can’t. So far, state government is pretty cool with the idea.
My daughter is a nurse at that hospital.
She had misgivings at first, but they offered a $500 bonus for anyone who got the shot.

A few years ago, we were told to just say no to drugs.
People were jailed and had property seized....lives ruined for some wacky plant that a few people decided should be illegal.
Then, just like that, they are now using marijuana as an incentive to take the vaccine like it is some kind of gateway to the serum.
It is a funny thing unless you look at the power of those in charge. Legal today is a reward tomorrow.
Surely a lawsuit is coming? There’s no data to suggest the purported “vaccine” actually works. It’s only been about 7 months since the first injections and the downward trend of infections began well before the injection came into play, suggesting herd immunity was in play beforehand.
Also, many infected show little to no symptoms, therefore, how could the decline of reported infections be linked to the “vaccine”? They can’t, but they are trying to associate it in order to continue pushing the injection. The populace is being played like a fiddle.
I’ve wondered how they could reach that conclusion, unless they intentionally exposed every vaccinated test subject to the virus and then tallied up how many got sick. And they definitely didn’t do that. (I know, they compare them to a control group, but they still don’t know who was exposed to the virus in either group).
It seems a little like having the test group drink extra water everyday, and then if only 5% get sick concluding that “Drinking more water is 95% effective in preventing COVID.”
Good thing there’s no shortage of healthcare workers. /s
By its own words, just a big publicity stunt by the hospital.
They probably test positive for antibodies, and if so hope they band together and sue the hospital. This would be something the ACLU should be backing pro Bono. But I guess this isn’t a leftist cause.
