We did that with a Pinto runabout with the 2.0 engine. Shaved head, NE code high compression pistons, custom ground cam, redialed timing sprocket, homemade exhaust, a custom intake manifold that had a rack of Kawasaki 1000 bike side drafts with port and needle work done, and a pressure plate with stiffer springs. It was pretty fast and would outrun almost everything in our little town.

Lol, I had a KZ900 up until about a year ago and tend to agree, they were fast bikes for the era. Many drag bikes were built with those as a base.
