Confections in Lufkin, Texas announced on Thursday that it would be selling rainbow cookies for Pride Month. The bakery, located in East Texas, soon faced backlash for its decision.
"Today has been hard. Really hard," a Facebook post from June 3 read. "We lost a significant amount of followers because of a rainbow heart cookie we posted."

They’re too far from Austin for that type of thing to work.
You don’t have to go to school to learn that.
Common sense still works.
And sometimes you have to tell young people what is right there in front of their face. :D
I wish schools would teach kids more common sense about compound interest and the rule of 72.
They can support anything they want but I would never buy ANYTHING from this bakery. I make my own or go without.
It appears they lost regular customers. Lets see if the new customers return. I know that when I stop going somewhere, for whatever reason, I don’t return.
When I moved into the small town where I now live 38 years ago I went to the local barbershop for a haircut. I was ignored. Not sure why, perhaps the day I picked was for regulars only, but for what ever reason the barber was taking customer all around me but not me. Eventually I got up and left. Never to return. I had to drive five miles to the next town for my haircuts.
Once a customer has a bad experience with a business that customer will find someone else to do business with even if it may cost more in time or money.
So if you rub on the cookie, it turns into a cake?
we can't control what others do, only what we do. Besides, the typical leftist responds to emotion and hype of headlines. As you say, they will not be there for this bakery tomorrow.
Please don’t burn my business to the ground, is the message sent by this “woke” bakery.
Didn’t they teach you the difference between product and manufacturer?
Lufkin is not far from Nacogdoches home to SFA State University, and along with Palestine, make up the iron triangle of Liberal East Texas. This is all a very small area of Texas and out of line with Texas social values.
Ain't freedom grand? Let it ring!
Yep. That won’t fly well in Lufkin.
Bingo! You sold out this week, you will have stale cookies next week, because the one thing you can bank on with libs like the Cubans, once the headlines disappear, so does their money!
do they taste like sh1t?
The free market at work. We will see if any of those leftists keep coming back or if they only bought to virtue signal how special they are. Time will tell.
They taught me all sorts of stuff. I’m talking about one overarching concept.
“If a customer likes your product/service, she/he will tell a friend. If he doesn’t like it, he will tell them.”
In our medium size city, good stores and people, who keep our homes and businesses in good working condition seldom have to advertise.
My wife is a group leader of a women’prayer group at our church. Each week, they have a meeting, and the first few minutes are often spent on identifying good merchants and those who keep their homes in good shape.
Last week, they removed a restaurant as a luncheon place due to miserable service and so so food at their last lunch.
Each woman in that group has other groups and friends where good and bad merchants/providers are discussed.
Being WOKE and pro BLM is not a positive factor with these women and their peers.
the more you show your politics, the easier for me to either avoid or support you. There are restaurants close by that lost my business because of their idiotic BLM signs..
It's not a rainbow if it doesn't have indigo. (7 colors).
thanks for the geographic lesson.
I learned a long time ago, as pertains to restaurants, that the owners always appreciate when a legitimate complaint or issue is brought to their attention. I try to do that rather that taking my business elsewhere.
