Boeing's 737 Max aircraft under scrutiny AGAIN
BBC ^ | May 2021 | Theo Leggett

Little more than six months after Boeing's 737 Max was cleared to fly again by US regulators, the aircraft finds itself under intense scrutiny once again.

The discovery of a potential electrical problem last month led to the renewed grounding of more than 100 aeroplanes, belonging to 24 airlines around the world.

Deliveries of many more new aircraft have been suspended. Boeing and the US regulator, the Federal Aviation Administration say they are working closely to address the issue.

But the affair has given new energy to critics who claim the 737 Max was allowed back into service prematurely - and that issues which could have contributed to two fatal crashes have not been fully analysed or addressed.

Those critics include a high profile whistle-blower, Ed Pierson, who has already sought to link allegedly poor production standards at the 737 factory with electrical defects on the crashed planes, which he claims may have been implicated in both accidents.

I have flown on the 737Max several times since their return to operation. Yes I feel safe. More importantly I am safe.
Pilots and flight attendants have families too. If they feel safe, I feel safe.

I’m a retired 40 year commercial pilot with over 20,000 hrs from everything from Cessna 402’s to 747’s. I have experienced many uncommanded pitch issues most of them at the most inconvenient times. however I’m still around because I knew where the damn circuit breakers were, read the manuals.

I was doing some work on VA001(B767) once and had to ask a Boeing VP to leave so I could do my job. They used to do Management By Walk Around.

Our lights kept rotating through all the colors. Ultra annoying. Like a new toy to the attendants.

Putting the bean counting MBAs in charge of a business is the fastest way to ruin it.

Well, you said exactly what I was going to say, so thank you.

Every new plane has growing pains. Arguably the two crashes are attributable to poor piloting skills too.

I didn’t feel safe with the initial AI for pitch control but Boeing has been (forced) to add pilot training and refine the software.

With those fixes in place the danger of these particular planes is about the same as any other.

Early DC-10s had engines that just fell off!
737s had a fatal rudder defect after their initial release that caused several spectacular crashes.
Engine fan jets have torn apart from engines and sliced into the fuselage like saw blades.
Airbuses had autopilots that would crash planes.
Airplane tops have ripped off in flight!
I’m an engineer by trade. I’m well aware of all these issues when flying!
The fact of the matter is that all of these incidents are rare when you consider that everyday - thousands of flight occur worldwide without incident and issues that do occur are thoroughly investigated and new processes are put in place so that issue and related ones don’t happen again.

The CEO needs to be put in jail for a long time.

Boeing had it’s roots in the state of Washington but left when the libtards go to be just too much. Unfortunately they were there too long and is infected with democrat party moral and ethics. Criminals

So should we avoid flying the MAX even now? I’m planning on traveling and wondering...

Would you feel safe travelling on one of these?!

That gets less likely every time I read a story like this.

Which has become often. 😨

Yu should be okay if that is your aircraft. Boeing really doesn’t like to airplanes fall from the sky. same with flight crews, etc. Just pray, always, that God will protect you
