Old man yells at cloud. Of course he hates every act that came after him.

Who is Keith Richards and why is this news worth wasting FR bandwidth on?

My favorite Keith Richards quote, said sarcastically after Mick Jagger was knighted: “Mick should have held out for a lordship.”

I find it and him amusing. Outside of Bowie I can’t say I disagree with him. All had some decent songs I guess.

Interesting comments on Oasis by both Richards and Paul McCartney
In fact, Noel Gallagher is still a very successful song-writer, now in his 50s.

Elton John didn’t write the lyrics, Bernie Talpin did.

Disagree vehemently on Zep and Bowie. On Elton, he’s spot on if he’s talking about his later stuff. I loved Elton’s early stuff. Don’ t.know Oasis, and was never a fan of Prince’s music, but after hearing him jam on the guitar, I gained a lot of respect for him as a musician.

WGAF what rockers think of each other? They got egos like actors. Ballooning and very fragile. Like them or not the Stones created one of the greatest Rock ‘ Roll phenomena in history. I guess that gives Keith some cred.
WTF is “Oasis” anyhow?

I actually agree except maybe some of Elton John’s songs. and Led without that screechy voice is nice.

I’ve never met a musician who isn’t hypercritical.
Just an art thing.
And Plant’s voice is a screech. Page was the best thing about Zeppelin, but nowhere near as good as when he was with Beck in the Yardbirds.

MetallicaI like a couple of their songs, but most of what is now known as metal is good musicianship wasted on bad (and mostly unlistenable) music.

“An overrated midget…”
Keith’s opinion of Prince.
I completely agree.
I saw Prince up close in person when I worked at the Carrier Dome in 1985. He was probably 4’7” plus 5” platform shoes. Of course, he was surrounded by 5 really big black dudes.
To: mylife
Not a stones fan, he’s entitled to his opinion just as anyone else.
