For those of you who may or may not be interested, the 8 round exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul took place last night. Original headline follows:

Floyd Mayweather has ‘fun night’ going distance with Logan Paul

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Floyd Mayweather Jr. outclassed YouTube personality Logan Paul but couldn’t stop him inside the distance.

Mayweather and Paul boxed an eight-round exhibition Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium. With the bout not being scored, no winner was declared.

The 44-year-old Mayweather used the ring skills that propelled him to world titles in five divisions and a 50-0 career record to frustrate Paul with solid lead and counter shots.

What a snoozefest. Floyd was right, it was legalized bank robbery and I feel sorry for anyone who actually had to pay to watch it. I'm sure that gamblers who bet on Logan going the distance walked away happy.

LOL. Mayweather put George Floyd in a gold casket and took him on a U.S. tour. Gangsters gotta stick up for each other and saps will pay for it.

Why do you feel sorry? Didn't they know what they were getting?

Mayweather was one of the top boxers in the world. The other guy took it up in the last year or so. If Mayweather actually tries, It probably wouldn't have lasted a minute, and Paul would be in a coma.

Who "had to pay to watch it" and how were they forced to do so?

I thought it was a 'pay for view' event but you're saying people 'actually had to pay to watch it'.

There should be a law against boxing promoters being able to force people to watch any event.

There are now videos purporting to show that Mayweather could have knocked him out but held him up instead.

The only thing that should be of interest to you is that putting a spoiler alert in the title doesn't get your thread deleted as you once claimed. One of the nice things about going to Freerepublic.com as opposed to, say, the Daily Mail is that people have more control over the content so polite people can warn others that they might have an issue with something they may not have watched yet. It's a common courtesy, something you obviously aren't interested in.

Now that we have that cleared up you can slink back into your corner and keep pretending that you matter.

I have seen posts pulled for changing the headline.
I posted here helping people out.

You are a real nasty piece of work.
I can’t imagine that level of anger from friendly advice to users on how to intelligently make use of the forum.

I doubt Mayweather could have knocked him out. He’s all about technique and points. Never been a KO guy.

“‘Money’ had an unusual fight style. In fact, he was one of the best defensive boxers to ever step inside the ring. He had enough knockout power [to] counter his opponents. But out of 50 wins, Mayweather only has 27 wins via T/KO.

In his entire boxing run, Mayweather performed as an oppressor in a very handful of fights....‘Pretty Boy’ relied on his defensive skills and his extensive counterattack abilities.

But he was never really a knockout fighter. Most of his fights went full 12-rounds, and the American was a fan of collecting points by hitting jabs to the face and body coupled with some right hand strikes.”

Mayweather was the best punch counter (note my word order) in boxing history. Nobody was better at making sure he hit the other guy more than the other guy hit him and winning the round. If you’re watching boxing hoping for power and fury then yeah he was terrible to watch. But if you know how the sport is scored it was amazing. I often wonder how he’d have been at the blackjack table. Anybody who can count punches that well would probably be amazing at card counting, I mean for one thing you’re not getting hit, that has to make it a lot easier.
