Traces of a chemical tied to blood cancers including leukemia have been detected in dozens of popular sunscreens and after-sun products, according to tests conducted by online pharmacy and lab Valisure.

Benzene, a known carcinogen, was found in 78 of nearly 300 sprays and lotions tested — about 27% — including products sold by Banana Boat and CVS, according to Valisure.

In a petition, the company has asked the FDA to recall these contaminated batches. The regulating body is reviewing the claim.

Every time you pump gasoline, if you can smell any of the fuel, you’ve ingested some benzene. The same holds true when you’re filling your lawn mower or your outboard motor. Now how much of a risk you’re taking on is another question; it’s not zero, but it’s not worth losing sleep over either.

At what concentration? “It’s not just the poison. It the dose.” Modern equipment can measure parts-per-billion with ease. A few ppb does not matter. Unless it’s Plutonium.

I have a Black & Decker microwave that I stand close to when all I’m doing is reheating a cup of coffee, and I do it for approx. 40 seconds at least four times every day. I really like what it does for the coffee but I don’t know whether to expect my skin to turn blue or not, or whether newer microwave ovens are at all hazardous to my health.

Well, as any expert will tell ya, that sunscreen will kill ya. Definite cancer-causing stuff in there and yer all gonna die.

Now, that new experimental rush-into-service COVID vaccine? That stuff is 100% safe. We oughta force that stuff on anyone and everyone because there’s no way it’s harmful. You’d be crazy to have any concerns at all.

The same mechanism in my brain that kept me away from an experimental jab for a not very threatening disease stopped me from slathering on to the largest organ of the body a bunch of CHEMICALS prepared to block the rays of the star God saw fit to put into the sky.

A simpler headline would read: Research has found that everything causes cancer.

California where everything causes cancer, is a cancer on the American body

California allows lawyers across the country to feast on the cancers imagined by Californians

Aluminum builds up in our brains and it seems that would put us at risk when standing close to a microwave, especially ones like mine that are built-in over the stove top.

I try not to stand near the microwave when it’s running. I don’t have any real “data” to back that up, but just being cautious.

Probably because they’ll sleep with anything that moves, so they know lots of fellows who’ve acquired cancer.

What causes more skin cancer?

Lotions, or the Sun overexposed skin?

My generation of lab rats - we handled benzene routinely in the 60s and early 70s as a cleaning solvent. Hmmm lets see if there is some huge bump in cancers in laboratory workers from that era? No?

Swallowing small amounts of saliva over several decades causes cancer dontchaknow.
