You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

4 minutes good
3 minutes excellent
2 minutes exceptional
90 seconds superior

Too easy. Authorship in question.
Keep your mask on, who knows what you are carrying.
Back when Coke and the NFL were hateful and racist. I can’t say that wokeness has improved anything.
Did you mean 'weren't'?
Its tough that things we once enjoyed are now so un-enjoyable. I still have fond memories of America's dad, Mr Cosby, before he was revealed as a serial rapist.
1 minute.
1st word, contraction, 2 words after the contraction,
3rd word, 2nd word, off to the races.
I watched “The Bill Cosby Show,” and “Fat Albert” before “The Cosby Show,”and there was “I Spy” before those. Makes one wonder what other double lives might be out there.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
Unrelated to the puzzle, but related to some posts, I had a girlfriend in the early 1970's whose aunt lived on the upper East Side of Manhattan. She said she saw Bill Cosby waiting in lobby for his date. And as she reported (it was the 1970's) "She's white!"
Personally, I think the vast majority of the women who dated Cosby knew who he was and what he was. One of the whats was "a married man". My sympathy for his victims is mitigated.
He drugged them
Cosby was always a racist.
Did you ever see a white male on his show playing anything but a fool or a heavy?
Perhaps you don’t remember back in the 60s when he would sub for Johnny Carson while he, Ed and Doc would be on vacation. All guests and entire band would be black.
People didn’t know because they didn’t WANT to know.
I’m sure Cosby had to eat a lot of racist crap over the years. If he got a chance for a little payback, I’m not surprised that he took full advantage of it. Still, I’m sure some whites signed off in it. Racism was always a taboo subject. And the current crop of activists won’t think that equality is achieved until whitey is in chains.
Third word is key
Pretty easy one today; the contraction, the first word (single letter) and off to the races; less than 2 minutes. Thanks nikos!
