“We have Black Bears in Florida. They are a protected species. We are up to our ears in bears ..................”

I've been watching all the YouTube videos of adorable black and grizzly bear cubs wrestling with siblings, ambling across and turning back to other sides of roads with lines of cars waiting etc. All these mama bears have 3,4,5 cubs. I remember thinking there will have to be a season on bears.

(that isn't even taking into account all the bear families on the decks of houses or in the jacuzzi)

I'm still marveling at the dead grizzly found 15 miles away from the encounter with 6 .44 slugs in his chest.

Come visit up here, I want to see this for myself hah.

There’s more Grizzly here than you can count.

They are not endangered in the slightest and never were. I know the man who used to work in the office next to the guy who’s job it was to count and track the bears, and he fudged the numbers all the time to keep his position open. Typically government worker, they want to keep feeding at the trough.

We can. Just noting you’re more likely to get convicted of a felony for entering a Park outhouse while carrying, than to get mauled by a grizzly. That’s not diminishing the odds of the latter, just addressing the specter of the former.

When riding or hiking I never went armed. I respected bears - saw a good number of them, even sows with cubs. When accompanying tourists on a wilderness ride always had a rifle with me. Never had to use it. And if I had it would have. been to scare them off vs shooting them.

Aww! come on!

I almost had myself a timber wold the size of a female elk. He was as tall, I’d estimate about 210lbs.

I didn’t have my usual truck rifle that day, and was carrying a backup mare’s leg with a full stock in .357 with crap sights. Just a quick self defense thing. If I had the usual, I would of taken him. He would of looked good on my sled deck driving back into town heh.

I was being sarcastic. Would have thought you know me well enough and you are smart enough to pick up on that.

As for the rest of what you said, I’m assuming the 36th G7 in 2010? Are you bragging? LOL

Should holster is under unbuttoned fishing shirt, so concealed when I want.

02 was in Kananaskis and Chrétien was PM. Hence why I said 10 because Harper was PM at that time. But that would have been after ETS now that I think about it.

03 was in France.

Ok not bragging. Just exceptionally detailed. Could not have been too dull if a bear was taken down.

Was the bear traveling with another bear named Boo-Boo? And was the bear wearing a tie?

All kidding aside, prayers to his family.

Yup, try it.

Put bacon grease on a tin can and bear will chew holes all over it.

I like the idea of loosening the cap on the dart. Haven’t tried that. I love my blow gun. Used in on small game before.
