But all is lost if an asteroid gets to be a Statue of Liberty

The asteroid zipping around the earth on June 1, named 2021 KT1, would be 4.5 million miles away from the earth. While that may seem far, NASA considers any asteroid within 4.6 million miles of earth and larger than 150 metres to be potentially hazardous. That's how you keep up the Catastrophism skeer.

"on June 1, named 2021 KT1, would be 4.5 million miles away from the earth." To put that in context, the moon is, on average, roughly 240,000 miles from earth. So, at 4.5 million miles, this object will be around 19 times the distance from the earth to the moon at its closest approach! (assuming I did the math correctly)

No, That IS far!
Only 4.5 MILLION MILES away.
What if they are off by say a MILLION MILES, it would still miss erf by 4.4 MILLION MILES!

For reference, Earth’s own Moon is only 250,000 miles away. Now you get a large android inside of *that* distance and I’ll start to worry.
