Satire gets harder and harder. I’m surprised the Bee can still pull it off.

The strawberry short cake rolls taste too chemically
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, their chocolaty twin the swiss roll is probably the better choice, although I will admit the chocolate coating is a bit suspect. It peels off in a waxy sheet when you disassemble and unroll the roll to get at the creamy filling.
They’re fine, just announce that Little Debbie used to be Little Dennis and still has his “equipment” but identifies as whatever the buyers choose. They’ll sell millions more and be offered on party trays across liberal, urban, woke cities that never bought them before.
You’ll see the hat showing up in boardrooms and in faculty lounges.
I still remember eating those once and wondering if Mom knew that they tasted exactly like candy.
Probably got hyper after but its in the fog of 50 years ago.
Yup—Kelloggs has been “canceled” in our household as well—for several years now.
the swiss roll is probably the better choice,
Oddly, the same owner McKee, also owns Drakes Cakes, who made the original of this type "Yodels". Yodels aren't available in Phoenix, but in my memory they are much better than either Swiss Rolls or Hostess' knock-off, Ho-Ho's.
Debbie was never fat. I had dinner with her a few times. I was a distributor for McKee Food products for about 25 years. They were good people to do business with. I never ate the product. It is poison for your body. I did make some good money selling it to other folks.
I remember the vote they had, about whether Quake or Quisp was to be cancelled. You could cut out your printed votes on the back of the cereal boxes, and mail them in. Thus proving that a helicopter drop of Mail-in balloting was always a terrible idea. I bet Dominion tallied those votes, too.
While I was researching my answer (yes...some of us read the articles AND plan our responses) I found this interesting comment online:
Another commenter on the same video said: PEOPLE...Quake was only a PROMOTIONAL Cereal intended to create a fake rivalry to drum up sales. Quisp was the real cereal and after a couple of years they discontinued Quake as planned (and yes, it was the same exact flavor)
So there is it....Quake was a deep state plant.
The commenter was wrong. If Quake was meant to be discontinued they wouldn't have retooled him from a husky miner to a milder Australian Cowboy. There also would have been no need for the execrable Quangaroos. Finally, Quisp didn't last that long after Quake's disappearance.
I ate both cereals. Quisp was shaped like little bowls and had a different texture than Quake's cogs. I also remember more vanilla flavor in Quisp and more riciness in Quake, which was actually closer to Quaker's own Cap'n Crunch than Quisp.
The only place where Quisp excelled over Quake was upper-mouth damage. Quake (and Cap'n Crunch) would tear up the top of my mouth. I'd have to take a two-day vacation from those cereals. Quisp simply got soggy real fast and didn't cause as much damage.
Among other places where Quisp failed - and this was a biggie in my childhood - was that saucer design; combined with poured milk, it caused calamitous spraying in random directions.
And there it is...a rigged election elevated an illegal alien-backed milquetoast cereal with massive design flaws and killed off a cereal embodying American exceptionalism.
And here I am on FR vs DU. It explains a lot.
Hm, Yodels is a new one on me. I’m not surprised the Little Debbie version would fall short since they’re kind of a budget brand, but you might expect Ho Hos to be on par.
Quake has an important role in the breakfast cereal mascot comic "Breakfast of the Gods".
The same comic implies that the Hostess snack characters are all homos.
I used to eat a box of Cookie Crisp with a giant glass of ice cold milk over the Labor Day weekend (Jerry Lewis MDA telethon)... have to shamefully admit, I owe them money in that I would call in donations with made up names. Not sure how much I owe them now, but since this memory just hit, I’ll figure out a base, with some interest, and make it up to them. Even if it’s $10 a payday.
