Maybe the best song ever written. Look for other songs from this same session on youtube. There are some great ones.
I work alone mostly, that copter pick is very dangerous.
Balls of steel.
He was such a great musician in all ways. I miss talent like that. All we have now is that cheesy rap and the half nekkid girl screechers.
I agree, those were the best music times. All different kinds but all great.
That first picture completey explains the song.
All alone with his thoughts. Dangerous and he knows it.
#1 in the USA.
Love that song. Glen had a beautiful voice and could really play that guitar.
I also love “Gentle on My Mind.”
a less polished but still great version.

A great album I'm proud to own.
They were lifelong friends. I think they had a deal - Glen didn't play the fiddle (though he could) and Roy didn't play the 12 string (though he could).
Either could play anything and make it look easy. They were both that talented.
Let Grandpa Jones tell you: Ghost Riders
The USS Wichita AOR-1 played this version of the song over its announcing system, as it broke away from replenishing our ship late at night in the gulf of Tonkin.
Every time I hear that song, I can feel those hot steamy nights, and get a whiff of salt air.
Love this version of WL from 2008. Glen on tour in the UK. Youngster to Glen’s right on rhythm Guitar is Glen’s Son. Really nice Fretwork by Glen
Just watch them sit back in awe.
Thanks
I’ve never seen that. Thanks, remarkable. Two awesome musicians. I didn’t appreciate Hee Haw when it was on, ‘cause it wasn’t jazz. Oh well, I can appreciate it now, thank Heaven.
That’s a great take on the song. I agree with your view of it. He’s out there in the sun and snow working in the lines, doing the job. Then he hears her on the line for all time. Such great imagery and story-telling.
Thanks. I never bought any of his music, but have grown to appreciate him and his music far more as I’ve aged.
I found a great “Wrecking Crew” playlist on Spotify the other day that I was enjoying. It was more of the songs they worked on that didn’t become big hits.
This goes to Glen.
Every Band knows this song. It is iconic around the USA.

I always see hard work, much of it pushing the edge of safety for low pay for the guy’s efforts. Not so now;

You worried about somebody up on a pole?
You do it.
Glen hooks up in the same year with Kim Darby in this quirky film, one of his co-stars of “True Grit.” Her character was only supposed to be 12 years old in that movie. Joe Namath also stars in this one;

It is higher than that BTW.
Stop your jealous lib rant. Climb a pole and fix a XFRMR.
You do that I will give you 10K.
Your post was about as stupid as they come.
When Campbell was first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, his daughter released this song. Blurry screen alert;
