What has been left out on this thread is Johnny River's contribution to this music. Rivers recorded Webb's songs first and then convinced Campbell to record “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” by Webb also. Rivers introduced Webb to Campbell that resulted in “Wichita Lineman”. Rivers supported many other acts that were unnoticed like the Fifth Dimension. Rivers is being shunned from the R&R HOF because he is a conservative which is a damn shame and just shows how the HOF is nothing but a leftist bastion of butt lickers.
