A multimillion-dollar home in Sammamish is at the center of an ongoing investigation, as squatters continue to break in and make the home their own.
“The amount of guns, drugs, etcetera that were confiscated out of that place are not for personal use or for any good reason,” Sammamish Police Chief Dan Pingrey said. “I totally recognize how frustrating it is for the neighborhood and it’s just as frustrating for us to be honest with you.”
The homeowner lives overseas, but a few people living locally help maintain the home with routine checkups. One of those workers stopped by the home and found 12 guns, bulletproof vests, more than 15,000 fentanyl pills, heroin, meth, and more than $40,000 in cash.
The worker called 911 and police arrived on scene.
“As we were beginning to take a look at our next steps, an unlicensed motorcycle showed up with two people on it,” Pingrey said.
Neighbors identified the two people as the squatters and both were arrested for burglary, according to Pingrey. Both were out of jail within days and headed back to the home, bringing more people with them.
“After they were out of jail, we had a large group trying to get back into the house,” Pingrey said. “No one was supposed to be there. The homeowners were not allowing anyone to stay there.”
Pictures taken by a neighbor show police vehicles lined up on the street with officers watching, as the squatters filled a U-Haul truck with items inside. Another picture shows a garage full of appliances, including an ATM.

Only what is in the article. My wife and I have lived here our entire lives, but it is getting too crazy. We are hoping to move out of state in the not too distant future.
Gotta be careful here. If you are in the house and someone comes in illegally, you are typically allowed to use deadly force since it's presumed that you're at risk of imminent bodily harm. However, if someone is in your house when you're not also inside, use of deadly force would likely get you into trouble because at that point you're defending only property. Deadly force can't be used in the defense of property. So if you come home from vacation, notice someone in your house and go in with guns blazing, you're likely to catch a homicide charge.

Well, that’s on you. You probably enticed them with a lush green lawn. If you had a yard full of thistles they wouldn’t have been interested. But you no doubt received free fertilizer from the cows, so I call it a fair trade.

On a slightly serious note, the cops were concerned that they may have been stolen. They were worth over $30,000.

When I worked at a dairy farm, the cows would break out of their enclosure all the time, but then they’d get lonely before they reached the highway, and come right back.

You must live in a fairly gentrified neighborhood allowing them to keep their clothes like that. ;-)
My dad and I rented some partially wooded pasture for years on the edge of little Viola, IL. There were homes along part of it, and the fence was marginal. The cows got through a couple of times (the homeowners were nice understanding folks). We just added more barbed wire. The pasture also bordered the village cemetery, and the fence belonged to the village. When the cows got through there, those residents never complained.
Then the village bought a couple of acres off of our landlord, put up a new fence, and that ended the breakouts there.
Dairy cows are accustomed to being within a certain distance of the milking parlor. They enjoy being milked. And they usually get quality feed during the process.

The squatters claimed the property in the house was theirs.
The police chief says there is nothing the police could do.
But if their cell-phone tracker had identified them as attending a pro-Freedom rally, the FBI could have locked them away in solitary confinement without a trial.
After I grew up and moved away, my dad had to fence off the part of the pasture that bordered the development. He was allowed to let the cows graze on the neighbor's property. The problem we had then were people getting into the neighbor's property looking for “magic mushrooms” and then leaving the gates open. The cows then would sometimes get out onto a busy 4 lane street.
Cows are surprisingly less jumpy in that situation than if a bunch of horses got out, and miraculously in the 60 or so years I have been around none of ours have ever been hit by a car or truck. But there have been fatalities of both people and horses. Two of the incidents were people riding our horses.
The owner could personally evict them.

It’s beyond frustrating trying to figure out where some of this stuff happens.
Too many people have the mentality that if they know something, everyone else should know it too.
And alternatively if you tell them something they have not heard before, they act like you’re making it up or lying to them.
The arrogance is astounding.
That is true for the person whose dwelling it is; not for his neighbors.
That’s a good idea.
I can say the same thing about the MSM. But we know they don’t care.
How many times do you see ‘file footage’ and lack a date stamp on the footage ?
It should be mandatory that every video clip aired, has a VISIBLE date stamp.
And anytime science plays games with slo-motion video on TV, mandate that they reveal any speed other than 1x.
How about all the false and artistic colors added to NASA data ?
99% of what is on the tube is artistic manipulation of nothing more than data sets.
