RAM was living proof that Paul is dead.

I’ve not heard it before and it sounds like I shouldn’t.

I’m not a big Beatles fan, early stuff I love, experimental stuff has a few gems, Abbey Road was good. I bought Ram when it first hit and liked it a lot. I’m more a Harrison fan though.

I think once a guy buys a truck, he can do with it what he pleases as long as it is legal.

RAM was one of my very favorite Paul McCartney solo albums.
Starting with the title song, a catchy melody played on ukulele. I heard that song Ram On in 1971, and I never forgot it.
Lots of percussion. Lots of harmonic vocals in the background. Quite uncluttered. I heard it after buying the album for ‘Uncle Albert. Like many of Paul’s pieces, the lyrics are secondary. The overall adventure/ journey of the music is the main point. Uncle Albert is a pleasant ride on a gently whirling, stratospheric carousel. Strap up and sit back.

There are other lesser known gems, such as “Dear Boy”. Many well produced, ‘handcrafted’ confections for the ear. Long Haired Lady would be well suited for an extended live performance. There are several areas one could squeeze a guitar solo into.

I liked “Uncle Albert” too. It’s not rock or an Abbey Road masterpiece by any stretch, but not everything has to be. I thought it was creative and fun.

Ringo was the genius of The Beatles. By far, the most talented. ~sarc needed?

The guy lucked out. Manager didn’t want good looking drummer to outshine Paul or John so the homely Ringo stepped in. Luckiest guy in the Universe. Pete Best is depressed to this day I would imagine.

Exactly. Creative and fun and skillfully done. Similar to “I’m Not In Love” by 10cc.

OR, The Theme from Shaft, by Issac Hayes. Thoroughly exciting and alluring. It made you ‘look’.

I liked “Venus and Mars”. Panned for being “commercial”, but heck, I don’t expect Bach or even Glenn Miller when I buy a Wings record. Catchy tunes, high production values, not too much Linda.

I would take a “little Linda” over ANY you know who.

Well, I heard "McCartney" was a one-man band. I figured this had to be different.

“You Know Who” is almost an anagram for “Yoko On(o) whuw”.

I used Yoko Ono’s flipside on “Starting Over” (Kiss, Kiss, Kiss) to drive customers out of Pizza Hit when I wanted to close.

I used to use pots and pans from the kitchen, until my mom needed to make dinner.

Ram is the only McCartney album I have - has a ton of good stuff on it - Heart of the Country, Long-Haired lady, Monkberry Moon Delight.

Whimsical, like a lot of Paul's stuff - easy on the ears.

(Favorite McCartney is Band on the Run, though - reminds me of High School).

Ringo is actually a very good drummer - left handed playing a right handed kit. His boy Zak is a phenom.

In my opinion...the best was the White Album. The one that holds the most memories for me (and all are really good memories) Magical Mystery Tour

The way I heard it was George Martin told the boys "you'll need a new drummer straight away" after hearing Pete play. George Harrison knew and suggested Ringo.
