If every cloud has a silver lining, COVID’s silver, from which we should try to benefit, has shone the light on the shallowness and fragility of our commonsense. Few of us are immune to the all-powerful assault of fear -- of death for ourselves or those we love -- a favorite toxin employed by anyone whose main goal is control of the target.
It began fourteen months ago when death was served up in huge helpings with morning coffee. The initial assault was blitzkrieg shock -- irresistible. But two months further on, with data rolling in, too few of us asked too few questions or even managed: “But wait a minute …”. Overwhelmed, commonsense in free fall, we accepted confining restrictions to freedom of movement and eagerly embraced uncomfortable behaviors with breath taking speed and acquiescence.
Fourteen months into the pandemic and so many persist in their immunity to any hint of commonsense, risk and cost / benefit analysis – common skills in ever day life -- despite a mother lode of data that show our reactions remain disproportionate to the attack. The examples are legion and stunning. On August 7th, 2020 over 400,000 mask-less, non-distancing bikers descended on Sturgis, SD (population 7,000) for nine days. Supposedly, this was an epidemiologist’s nightmare of catastrophic magnitude, the rally was condemned by all as wholly irresponsible, predicting consequent illness and death for thousands -- the mother of all super-spreaders.

To date, Meade County (Sturgis) has reported thirty deaths – over the last fourteen months. But the fear mongers persist: “They came, shared, and took the virus home with them causing death everywhere else.”

Never let a crisis go to waste.

The corollary - every silver lining has a cloud.
The presence of COVID-19 Wuhan virus has indeed caused great strides in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, but at enormous cost to the economic, moral and ethical standards of the world. The sum total of all wealth in the world has decreased, the resurgence of command-and-control regimes at the expense of representative republics, and the vast expansion of untruths, lies and outright fabrications are all among the absolutely inappropriate human responses to the presence of this plague. Never a really dangerous disease in its own right, COVID-19 Wuhan virus patients have a surprisingly good recovery rate, well over 99% in most age groups and in most conditions, whether the draconian measures were applied or not.
The COVID Scamdemic showed just how much money and power can be gained in an international con and also how individual governments of nations are corrupt and useless. Very few asked for factual data and fewer stood up to this fearmongering.
I knew this country was doomed as soon as I saw how many FREEPERS (of all people) felt no shame about scolding other people right here on this website for refusing to buy into the Branch Covidian hysteria.
I can’t believe how many are “sheltering in place” after getting the vaccine. They’re never going to come out of their caves. And this is how they are spending their last days. Secure until death.
I have a theory that the degree of COVID fear one has is directly proportional to the amount of time one spends watching television.
I wouldn’t say it’s a “loss” of common sense. It is the deliberate obliteration of common sense by corrupt media and politicians.
If the China Virus has exposed anything, it's those who can think, reason and apply logic to continue to actually LIVE through the pandemic instead of just "survive", and those who cannot.
I don't know about anyone else but that right there has been quite an eye opener for me. People that I've known for a very long time and otherwise considered to be intelligent and full of common sense have turned out to be IMO the exact opposite. I still love and care for them dearly, I just see them in a completely different light now.
I've refused to live in fear through all this and I'm immune system compromised due to genetics. I've continued to LIVE and thrive through all this by the grace of God and I'd hoped that would set an example for my fear driven friends, sadly it has not.
What the Communist Chinese have done to this country through this bio-weapon (and it IS a bio-weapon) is really something.

What you say is true, it was however started by the deliberate release of a biologically engineered virus and a campaign by the CCP to destroy America.
