Outlook 365 Problem

Posted on 05/11/2021 4:22:31 PM PDT by savedbygrace

I am having a big problem in Outlook 365.

I installed Office 365 a month or so ago on a new laptop. It has worked great until today.

This past Sunday, I added a second email account. Everything was OK on Sunday. I didn't open Outlook yesterday.

Today, none of my messages will display the entire message content. Just a couple of lines, one of which tells me that if the content isn't displaying correctly, to click on the line to open a web browser.

When I do that, the browser opens and I can see the entire contents.

Any ideas what is wrong and what I need to do to coect this? Thank you.

It’s a feature.

Open problem with Microsoft. They’re working on it, FWIW.

The problem is that you are using outlook in the first place.

She gets the other half of your email.

This is an excellent forum for M.S. Office.

Q1)Is it plugged in?

Some general advice: dump Office 365 and Outlook. Replace Office 365 with straight Office or Open Office. Replace Outlook with Thunderbird. Been using it for years without a single hiccup.

Got the same issue today as well, right after I installed the latest update. Haas not been fixed. However, you can see the email contact by viewing in your browser.

I have Outlook but I never use Outlook 365.
Just a suggestion, try just going to Outlook and not Outlook 365.

We’ve been told that Outlook is 99% effective and don’t believe the stories of people dropping dead soon after opening their emails. That’s clearly disinformation spread by anti-emailers and other cranks.

You probably got updated.

What you are seeing should be able to be fixed in the view settings. You are on a limited preview. There should be two or three options in the views.

This is a Microsoft outage and should only affect desktop apps. Web mail should be unaffected.

Forcing an upgrade may help. It did for me.

Use Win-R to open the Run dialog, paste in the line below including quotes and hit Return. It should takes less than 3 minutes to run. No reboot required.

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462"
