Nobody there owns a shovel?
There are always dead bodies, sometimes whole, sometimes partially cremated, floating in the Ganges. They’ve tried to clean it up in recent years for the tourist trade, so I guess it’s better … but maybe not much.
They believe depositing loved ones into the Ganges could free their souls from reincarnation.
I thought that was normal......................
Nothing new for India where, if you can’t afford wood for a cremation they just toss your body into the holy rivers.

You couldn’t get me to go to India on a bet. Everything I’ve ever read about that country indicates that it is filthy and unsanitary beyond belief. No wonder they are inundated with diseases. And people bathe in the same rivers where there are rotting corpses!
Why use a shovel when you can befoul the water supply?
In India, they call this “Monday”. :)
Crocodiles gotta eat.
I think that’s 2 1/2 scores.
“Nobody there owns a shovel?”
India either cremates or throw into Ganges they do not bury. Ganges or cremation is supposed to release the soul from the body.
Hahahaha
true-
they always throw bodies into the river.

A woman in my town went to India 3-4 years ago for a business trip
First thing she noticed when walking down the plane is it smells bad everywhere you go
The body odor of the people was beyond belief.
The hotel sheets and pillowcases, though washed were brown stained from being old from countless peopole who had slept on them.
This is what I recall what she wrote though there was more.
My son's step father is Indian, and they took them to India for a visit. He developed a dysentery for a week. Something triggered a milk intolerance in his wife. He said it was the most disgusting and filthy place he has ever seen. They visited relatives of the stepfather. The kitchen was disgusting. They also touched the food with their hands in some sort of greeting.
2022 voters?
But, then again, the dogs are eating well...
Wow. That’s something we Americans are shielded from everyday. Eye opening about many things—scrolling through those images. From personal mortality and insignificance of the body to personal and community hygiene standards. To think it is a sacred river.
