Israel records lowest new Covid rate in 14 months

srael’s aggressive vaccination policy recorded another win on Saturday when just 13 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the country – the lowest rate in 14 months, according to data released by the Health Ministry this week.

On Saturday, 9,238 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country, according to the ministry, and just 0.1 percent of these returned positive.

They also come as the number of serious cases dropped to 100, including 60 people on ventilators, out of the 1,310 active cases in the country.

Also on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces announced that it was Covid-free for the first time since the outbreak began. It recorded zero active cases among its ranks.

In March, the military announced that it had reached herd immunity from the disease, with more than 80 percent of all service people either vaccinated or recovered from the virus.

Israel began its vaccination program with the two-shot Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in late December, and has managed to inoculate more than 60 percent of its total population, and 80 percent of the eligible population over the age of 16, to reach more than 5.4 million people.

It is the highest per capita vaccination rate in the world.

In February, a study of 1.2 million members of Israel’s largest health-maintenance organization, Clalit Health Services, showed the Pfizer vaccine is 94 percent effective in preventing symptomatic Covid-19 and 92% effective in preventing serious disease in vaccinated people who do get infected.

In April, experts suggested that the country had reached herd immunity.

When taking the shots becomes a matter of compliance vs. irrational fear, it is clear that - like masking - the shots have become a litmus test. I lost a daughter to this disease, so it is highly personal for me, and I have been vaccinated. But, while I don't agree with those who are against the vaccination, I respect their right to make decisions for themselves.

As for me, anything that could possibly spare me and my family the pain of losing another family member is strong motivation.

She has her second round of interviews again in person with a small firm that does not require the shots or masks, but most at the firm did get the vaccine. She will report directly to the president of the firm, who has already told her if hired, the initial offer will be at least $15,000 more than she currently makes. It will require her to be in person 2-3 days a week, with the other days at home.

She expects her second round interview with the other company next week and after one week a month in person, it will be just one day or week a quarter to half year.

My employer will restart very occasional time at the office on the order of a week a month or a week a quarter in 2-3 months.

I’m lucky to have a Conservative business owner running our shop and a distinct minority of lefties among us.

I made the mistake of hitting ‘reply all’ on an email without first saving it as a draft and got a note directly from the owner.

To say that I’m not fearful of losing my job due to my firm stance is an understatement, but in my area I should count my blessings and, most pertinently, I’ve already prepared for worst case which would once again involve my own business.

No, I don’t make decisions based on anecdotes. One big reason I decided to get the vaccine is because I plan two trips to Europe in 2022 and one to Hawaii too (hopefully)—I suspect all 3 trips will require vaccination. So I went ahead and got it now since I’ll likely need it eventually, to travel. Hawaii has already announced it (either a vaccine is needed or a negative test both before and after flying there).

In other words, decades of your little gene therapy and boosters, decades of masks, decades of control and economic deprivation. They tried and failed to take my children away in Family Court, motivated by me being against childhood vax. I prevailed. My ex has now seen the light and there will be no cv19 vax for her or our children.

The analysis showed patients with higher levels of disability had lower gray matter volume in the superior, medial and middle frontal gyri at discharge and six months later, even when controlling for cerebrovascular diseases. Gray matter volume in this region was also significantly reduced in patients receiving oxygen therapy compared to patients not receiving oxygen therapy. Patients with fever had a significant reduction in gray matter volume in the inferior and middle temporal gyri and the fusiform gyrus compared to patients without fever. The results suggest COVID-19 may affect the frontal-temporal network through fever or lack of oxygen.

I hope it is hypoxia and not anything related to physical presence/actions of the virus in the brain; which might be *real* bad news for spike protein related injections.

I have always been anti mask and anti lockdown but am accused of promoting those things. Thanks cannot even get agreement that covid is a real disease and there are people dying miserably every day. Anything against the vaccine and it is a vaccine is believed instantly while anything pro vaccine is immediately discounted. And you might not have had so many patients in such dire straits if the powers that be hadn't deliberately ignored real clinical results using Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine/Zinc, and formed decent protocols for use early on in the course of the infection.
