Grieving families buried their dead Sunday following a horrific bombing at a girls’ school in the Afghan capital that killed 50 people, many of them pupils between 11 and 15 years old.
The number of wounded in Saturday's attack climbed to more than 100, said Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian.

I think you mean “in a Western mind”; Afghanistan isn’t the only Asian country where females aren’t valued very highly (see Red China, India, other countries where dowries cost several years’ wages). We are trying to push an “enlightened” post-Christian culture on people with far more of a sense of identity than we possess - and we’re failing. Westerners aren’t slowly populating other parts of the world; instead, we’re importing people that would blow up a girls’ school because we won’t replace our own population through natural means.
I watched a veteran describe how he had fought, and buddies had died, so “girls could go to school” in Afghanistan. Who ever signed up with that goal? We will never fight the total war required to accomplish that, and each day our population shrinks a bit more - while theirs grows no matter how many hundreds you’ve killed. They understand that the population growth stops when their females stop bearing children.
The culture of death we are trying to export to Afghanistan is worth rejecting; a culture that pushes abortion, recreational sex, “gay marriage”, and broken families holds no sway with people who still believe in natural law and a false god.
We have no business trying to replace their culture with our current culture - and haven’t succeeded doing that anywhere.
Islam is a culture of death.
Sure - yet our recent census indicates that OUR birthrate has dropped even further (so we’ll be importing even more Muslims than before).

I believe Alexander the Great was the only one who succeeded in conquering this land, and even he didn’t stick around very long. The British tried several times and failed miserably. The Soviet armies later met their match in the mujahideen. America has wasted 20 years there and several thousand of our soldiers have been killed by roadside bombs, etc, with no measurable progress in this endless war.
Either get out now, or greatly increase the number of troops with the goal of destroying the Taliban and ISIS. Those are the only choices.
Since the only guaranteed way to get into Paradise is to die in battle it's easier to kill locally than travel to somewhere where Infidels are. With this kind of contagious insanity as the norm in Islamic societies the only way to maintain any semblance of order is thru brutal dictatorships.
Turkey managed to maintain a separation of Mosque and State for a century but is now sliding back to the Islamic norm.
Western progressives hate Muslim women who are feminists. Islamic hardliners are the enemy of the West so the “progressives” don’t mind if Muslim women are treated like slaves.

I’m in favor of having our troops leave. We never civilized the Afghanis, mostly because of the GWB decision that all these places we had taken and made safe then had to give Islam a privileged place in their new constitutions. What I feel bad about is all the people…ranging from Christians to feminists…who trusted us and then we basically abandoned them to radical Islam and just kept our troops there to prevent any attacks on our embassies.
We could have transformed these places had we really carried out the mission. People would be happier, safer and more prosperous now. So that’s the problem: our military wins the war, and the politicians lose it.

It just seems that the winning issue is to beat up Democrats with the War Mongering charge while they are the ones responsible and doing it.
The dirty little secret is that the Democrats wanted that war with Saddam just as bad as Bush did, they just put on that Kabuki Theater act for their base.
There are plenty of quotes from Democrats talking about fighting Saddam, before Bush was elected. Gore would have done the same exact thing had he won in 2000.
So, we’re really at war with the Press.
I have come to the conclusion that COVID was going to happen anyway, whether Trump was President or not. We simply had an economy to crush that, otherwise, would not have existed.
Oh well.
