It could be the farm itself, where Rice’s son Kevin and his wife Emily reside, and where Gail Rice stayed at foaling time in a camper by the driveway.
The ecosystem itself can prove downright recuperative: dogs, goats, a week-old foal hanging next to the mare, chicks scrambling around in the grass, potbellied pigs named Chester and Walter. “He’s such a cool dude,” Rice said, patting Chester.
“So I’m like, ‘God told me to get my butt home, right in time,’ ” Gail Rice said, “because the feet were coming out too far up and torn through, and so, it was like, ‘We’ve got to get the feet down,’ and then it wasn’t stretching, and, ‘Emily, just pull this!’ ”
Emily: “Oh, yeah.”
“Yes, I do,” she says.
So in this you’re-kidding story, she comes easing down the driveway around 2 p.m. on April 5, 2018, and she notices the foal’s legs are starting to protrude, and she hurries and shouts and manages to round up Emily, and …

Emily: “Oh, yeah.”
Emily: “We’re covered in amniotic fluid, and ugh …”
Gail: “It was exciting. It was.”
She bid the $1,000, and Rice felt bummed and thought to bid against her to drive up things, but concluded that would be dishonest, as one who attends a “cowboy church” where “people wear boots and jeans and hats.” T

surprisingly it was just announced Medina tested positive for steroids.
Well, can’t be considered the winner now, unless the horse is s Democrat.
Maybe it was the betamethasone. Lmao
The horse who finished first and was disqualified for interference in the 2019 Kentucky Derby, Maximum Security, was similarly purchased for a ridiculously low amount. In fact, his first race was a Maiden Claimer for $16,000! I can't understand how it is possible to have misjudged that horse's ability so poorly. And it wasn't because of the drug they later found in his system following the Derby, because he later went on to win other top-of-the-line stake races.
Or at least half Jack Ass.
Congratulations to Kentucky Derby 🐎 winner Betamethasone Spirit!
A friend ‘s sister in Fl adopted an abandoned horse.
The owner had moved away, leaving many horses without food or water, just to forage for themselves in a pasture. A delivery man saw the horses over the course of a week, as they moved closer from the back of the pasture to the front in search of grass to eat. They were very thin and starving so he called animal control.
The horses were taken, fed, watered and given medical attention and finally put up for adoption.
The horse my friend’s sister got had a tattoo in her mouth so when they got all settled in, she finally researched it- probably after about 6 months or so.
The horse is one of Secretariat’s granddaughters.
lolol.
You and your friend’s sister are going to love this story and video...
