Use Libre Office, it’s better and it’s FREE!
———
Only if you like incompatible documents and formatting problems that makes it so you can’t share documents with those who actually use a modern version of office.
Or revert to a Word 2007 compatible format (all the open source crap has problems with anything past that due to not being able to use and parse Microsoft XML properly.
Worst compatibility is LibreOffice’s terrible PowerPoint ‘clone’. Everything broken.

I like New Times Roman. Could read the letters clearly. Have no idea what I’m using at home but it’s okay for limited writing.
I’ve forgotten how to find my fonts and I don’t care.

I vote for New Divorce Petition Bold.

For fans of the 60's British series
"The Prisoner", how about the default font being
Albertus?
That's what it feels like right now in America.

My default is Arial as well. For the new ones I like Seaford the best. There is enough difference between the italics and normal and bold and normal.

Calibri sucks - I've been changing EVERYTHING back to Arial since 2007.
It's tedious.

Arial 12 pt... what it should have always been. Arial unfortunately is one of the fonts where the "l" and capital "I" are identical.
Any default font needs to add the option of a zero with a slash through it like Consolas. There are too many situation where users need to distinguish between Os and zeros.
I like Calibri. Tahoma is good too.

Why are all the candidates sans serif? I prefer serif fonts. Sans serif fonts on a computer screen put less strain on your eyes. Serif fonts are easier to read on paper.

Perhaps Microsoft could focus on making their products work properly first, and then worry about the default font after that.
