-snip-

Elise Stefanik, a former aide to George W. Bush and adviser to Paul Ryan's vice presidential campaign, is only 29 but scored a landslide victory over Matt Doheny, 43, in Tuesday's GOP congressional primary in upstate New York.

With help from Karl Rove's American Crossroads super PAC, a Paul Ryan campaign appearance and an endorsement from Mitt Romney, Stefanik nabbed 61% of the vote above Doheny's 39%.

Keep an eye on Stefanik after Cheney gets the boot. Groomed by Bush, Rove, Ryan, Romney.

Exactly. This open-borders RINO is not much of an improvement, except she showed (portrayed?) loyalty to Trump.

Not at all sure why Trump is supporting this mess. Hasn’t he learned anything?

“Bush, Rove, Ryan, Romney.”

Wow. A rogues' gallery of losers and filth.

No wonder the "leadership" is pushing Stefanik!

I agree, is she the best candidate probably not, but IMO she’s far superior to Liz Cheney....

If for no other reason than, maybe a few of the Republicans on Capital Hill will realize anyone can be gotten rid of and replaced....

Another candidate chosen by the modern day Cheka. They are all members of the Cheka run Trust.

I guess there's a lot to be said for not trashing the leader of your party. And by buying into the notion that the Capitol protest was some sort of insurrection, Cheney crapped all over the base as well.

This may not be good.

She may be beholden to the anti-Trumpers who put her into office originally or maybe she has already given the finger to these anti-Trumpers once she got into office.

In either case we need to keep a close watch.

I might add that it all comes down to the votes in the House Republican Caucus.

Right now the ‘true blue’ conservatives are around 60 members, while the ‘RINOish gang’ numbers are over 150 memberrs.

I bet that at the Ryan meeting with Cheney on Tuesday, Ryan told her that Stefanik will take her place and that Stefanik still be on the RINO side despite her MAGA posturing. This has all be orchestrated. That’s why Cheney isn’t whipping votes.

It’s ultra common that the house leader will do local campaigns, doesn’t mean she’s beholden to anyone. Take a look at what she’s done, especially for Trump, solid as a rock. Doesn’t man people don’t change, but I think she’s 10x better than Cheney and she deserves a chance.

Even a blind man can see it's over for Cheney.

It was a while ago, people change. She has been very good lately.
I do not believe in eternal damnation of somebody.
Unlike some posters here, unfortunately.

I have to agree with you. The RINO’s are the majority in the House and they are not going to give up power.

We have a big task facing us to get rid of 50 or so House RINO’s in the 2022 Primary and then elect genuine Conservatives in the 2022 General Election.
