Anybody with a security clearance is drilled over and over by his company - and what to watch for in others.

But this was many people (or someone very high up), as even mid-level people don't get cross-over clearance for multiple programs.

Fines are one thing. But will they be barred from participating in classified contracts in the future for some period of time? ie. no DD-254 work for them...???

A fine? Someone should be spending their life in prison

“ All of these alleged exports had to do with drawings that “contained engineering prints showing layouts, dimensions, and geometries for manufacturing castings and finished parts for multiple aircraft, military electronics, and gas turbine engines” used on various aircraft and ground vehicles. The documents were shared via DEXcenter, “a file exchange platform” that the Honeywell employees in question typically use to “transfer drawings to suppliers.”

That document includes the following list of impacted platforms, with a caveat that this was only some of the examples, rather than a full accounting:

Why are people responsible for that not jailed for a longtime and/or executed? In many cases, it’s not the ability to use the equipment or even to build the equipment (even the ones with sensitive technologies). It’s the many years and many dollars of R&D, and the trial and error process, that is key. If China gets sensitive information on the Raptor or JSF it doesn’t mean they will build something truly analogous. No. But it does mean that they cut years off R&D, and start off knowing what works.

Case in point - when Toshiba sold high performance metal milling equipment to the Soviets in the 80s that enabled the USSR to jump a generation of evolution in submarine quieting (due to quieter propellers). It’s not that the Soviets didn’t know how to do it, it’s that they didn’t have the equipment to do so plus it saved them a lot of time/years they would have taken to get there.

This doesn’t end until each of these incidences are treated as treason - with mandatory life sentences without parole.

Telling you all right now, this country needs to seriously start prosecuting individuals in this country for treason and treasonous acts. If this country did so and then followed each guilty sentence up with a death by firing squad, it would cut out nearly all this BS, bet.

The only good thing is, Chinese engineering! Sure, they steal the plans but their development of the science usually fails; the one silver lining.

We have major problems with not shipping execs in companies like this—Big Tech, Pharma, Military, Banking—off for hefty prison terms, at least, when warranted.

Fines like this are considered just a cost of doing business.

Ever mind the fines! How about extended jail time!

Wow.... A Honeywell-owned company is my biggest competitor. I wonder if I can use this information against them?

Hmnnn... probably not. Most of my growth is in China. :-(
