The officer who was stabbed is a woman; she and her partner, a Vietnamese-American judging by his name, fired back. The officer was stabbed near the eye. Her partner put 9 of the total of 14 rounds into the perp.

I was in a gun store one time....in Arizona no less..when they got a heads up that the police were on the way because of an impending armed robbery attempt. There were at least a dozen armed people in there with drawn weapons. It never went down!
