Interesting discussion on Slashdot. Apparently the bosses in charge at a project management company, Basecamp, decided that the never ending political “discussion” (aka ranting, proselytizing, whining, virtue signaling, harassment, etc.) on company time and across company assets (e.g., eMails, etc.) were too much. So, it is forbidden. Read the letter to employees. Surprisingly, the reaction at Slashdot (https://politics.slashdot.org/story/21/04/30/2114254/basecamp-sees-mass-employee-exodus-after-ceo-bans-political-discussions ) is almost 100% supportive. Many such topics bring out the SJWarriors, who seem to have been the problem at Basecamp. But, not this time. Instead, the condemnation of the SJW’s is in quite severe terms. Seems that there is a lot of support for a purge of the hate-mongers at companies. And purge is right. 30% of employees immediately said they were leaving. Might be simply more virtue signaling: “Look at how brave I am, I’m walking away from a job…..Uhh, what just happened?”. Nonetheless, this is a really nice sign.
I do both and have my whole life. I’m honest about where I stand, and believe me, it hasn’t harmed me or my life in any way. I’ve got friends at work/church/school. No problem.
I’ve found being open and honest about Jesus, and about Conservative politics using facts and reason does 2 things.
1-People know where you stand and mostly respect that
2-You can change peoples minds
Honestly, I feel a big part of the reason why the left is winning the culture wars is because “good” conservatives have never discussed politics or religion. It is surrendering before that battle begins. The left doesn’t do that.
The company has likely been swamped with resumés.
Good riddance to poisonous snowflakes and dirty little zampolit wannabes.
Not sure I like this comment:
“horrible injustices”....”{there are far too many to choose from)”
But if they can keep their mouths shut I guess it doesn’t matter. ;-)
Under pressure from SJWs they renamed the default github "master" branch of their source code to "main" because the term "master" triggers SJWs.
“That is a well written announcement.”
If I were younger, I’d work for them. Now that they’ve jettisoned the hangers-on and losers, it will be a really great place to work.
“Wellness benefits” have caused me to develop a deep seated hatred for HR, which is probably not healthy.
A company can "diversify" as much as they want, but there will always be ONE anti-diversification that can never be addressed -- and one that SJWs want but can never have:
The founders/owners of a company will always have superior power over everyone else.
As much as SJWs feel that they shouldn't be held to historical employment standards, as long as they rebel against managers managing them there will always be this form of workplace strife. Just look at what happened when the line workers at the New York Times got a managing editor fired. That's workplace anarchy.
As long as workers feel that they should have as much input into the direction of a company as the founders of that company, they will have a misguided sense of their own worth and will always be offended at the "inequality" of the workplace and lack of "diversity" of the power structure.
Unless that thinking changes, the new generation of workers will doom whatever company hires them.

But where are these filth fleeing to is the question.
“Honestly, I feel a big part of the reason why the left is winning the culture wars is because “good” conservatives have never discussed politics or religion. It is surrendering before that battle begins. The left doesn’t do that.”
You have a point.
I don’t recall politics discussed at work even obliquely in my 45 year career except in the last four years. And it’s all been leftist weenie crap.
Do y’all remember when you went for your next job, that you had to list the reason why you left the last one, and in the fine print, your prospective employer could check in with your last employer?
Be fun to see the lies told here.
Your daddy was right!
And I would add: no religion or politics at a family Thanksgiving meal. Or any other family gathering.
Which must be quite small, apparently, so that reduces the risk of arguments.
I was reading their twit, and the comments by the self-important millenials who are leaving is quite telling.
We shall see if their future prospective employers, if any, believe that their unique and amazing brilliance in everything that they do outweighs their propensity to whine.
That’s the old rule of the cavalry mess: no politics, no women, no religion.
Keeps the dueling down.
For example, let's consider transgenderism. Is it politics to claim that a man who wants to remove his penis to become a woman is suffering from a psychological disorder? Or is it a question of medical health?
Snowflakes can’t stand being in an environment that doesn’t celebrate their victimhood.

yup
Coinbase or another cryptocurrency company faced a similar internal backlask when they made these demands - and 10%+ of the workforce left.
HR has become a large part of the problem.
