The mother of a 19-year-old who was fatally shot last summer in Seattle’s so-called CHOP zone filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city, claiming medics failed to provide prompt aid and encouraged the unsafe conditions.
Q13 Fox reported that that suit was filed on behalf of Lorenzo Anderson’s mother, Donnitta Sinclair. The lawsuit claimed that the city’s decision to abandon the East Precinct near the Capitol Hill Organized Protest and provide protesters with portable toilets enabled the violence.
Dan Nolte, a spokesman for the Seattle City Attorney’s Office, told the station, "We intend to investigate these brought claims and will defend the City in this matter."
Several people called 911 to report the June 20 shooting, records show. Fifteen minutes later, several police officers entered the protest zone and "were confronted by an aggressive and volatile crowd," according to documents filed against Marcel Long, 18, who was charged with first-degree murder.
Anderson was transported by volunteer medics to Harborview Medical Center, where he died, according to the Seattle Fire Department. City medics had staged nearby, but authorities said the scene was too dangerous for them to enter without police securing the area, reports said.

... always looking for the deepest pockets ...
Once the mayor and city council removed the authority of the police....the city was not safe. They should have put a big sign at the entry of Seattle, and just said ‘enter at your own risk’. I see the same problem with Minneapolis today, unless you walk around armed...you have no way to protect yourself.
The city should file a countersuit alleging that she failed to provide proper parenting, given that her kid was involved with CHOP.

She is right though.
The city is criminally responsible for the death. The city promoted “CHOP”, gave it permission to exist, gave it moral and material support and therefore is responsible for everything that happened in it, including the murder.

Whether this 19 yr old was involved or not, the above is true. The city needs to pay. A lot.
While the city is partially responsible for the “autonomous zone” since they supported it, this nineteen-year-old adult chose to enter a criminal enterprise zone. No one forced him to enter and no one forced him to stay. He, and he alone, assumed the risk upon entry to an area publicly (and proudly) identified as separate from the law.
No standing.
Are the city tax-payers responsible for gangbangers who kill each other?
