Americans have an easy way to crush Covid-19 -- one that would let businesses fully reopen safely, ditch the need for social distancing and restore a mask-free return to normalcy.
But many Americans don't want to get vaccinated as myths and misunderstandings spread.
"Facebook runs a survey every day ... and that's shown that vaccine confidence in the US has been slowly but steadily going down since February," said Dr. Christopher Murray, director of the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.
"We were at 75% of adults saying they wanted the vaccine. Now we're down to, in those surveys, about 67%."
Vaccine hesitancy is a big problem for several reasons:

CNN reporting on it is the first and only reasonable reason to be wary. There’s no denying that.

My wife just got Shingles AGAIN. Had it when she was 30 and now at 65. She had just gotten her second Covid vax. She’s after me to get the Shingle vax and the Covid.

It’s not just CNN. The St Louis evening news has become a vaccine infomercial. As early as 3 months ago they were showing teenagers getting the jab with their Karen moms standing there beaming with pride. This was before TPTB even started talking about younger people getting the jab.
Meanwhile, at about the same time, kids here in rural MO 80 miles S.E. of St Louis, went back to school, no masks, no social distancing.
We’re a mostly mask free, “vaccine hesitant” area. Walmart has a place set up for the jab with 8 chairs for people to sit for 20 minutes after getting the jab. I’ve never seen anyone sitting there. Walmart here took down the mask required signs and removed the arrows from the floor 6 months ago because we were ignoring them.
Just a bunch of crazy rebels who don’t trust the MSM or establishment and do what we want instead based on our own observations.
When Biden says three times in his first speech, you NEED TO GET THE VACCINE, we say no thanks.
When Fauxi keeps changing the rules, we ignore the rules.
When the DJ starts talking COVID or a commercial for touch free thermometers come on, we change the station.
The county population is 24,000. It’s been over a year and we’ve had 35 deaths attributed to covid, two of them at the nursing home my wife works at. Both had one foot in the grave already. I imagine the other 33 were similar in age and health and would have died from the flu or within a year from their other ailments. To us, those 35 deaths are sad but not cause to change society or take the jab. No major COVID outbreak here and we get a lot of people from St Louis on the weekends. They love coming here and going mask free, shopping at our stores, eating at our open restaurants.
The nursing home offered the jab but didn’t make it mandatory. Most workers declined as did many residents. One 89 year old woman said “keep that shit away from me”.
Beautiful Spring weather here with highs in the 70s and a good breeze. We’ll all be outside enjoying the sun and getting fresh air and vitamin D, including the many thousands from St Louis. Our population will double here this weekend.
Bullcrap. Get the shot and you still have to wear the masks. You still can’t travel. You are still to self isolate. They are either lying about the vaccines or they are lying about getting “back to normal” with vaccines.
If you only got one shot, you didn’t get the newest shingle shots. It is a series of 2 shots.
2 Years ago in November, I got my 2nd Shingles shot. I had all of your symptoms and a few more. Our big PPO spent a fortune running every test they had to find out what was wrong with me.
They came up with nothing!
A friend in medical care as a MD provider believes that I was one of the first people to get Covid in our area combined with the Shingles side effects. It basically ruined our Family Thanksgiving and Christmas that year.
Whatever I had was apparently passed on to a 50 something son, who had my symptoms and lost 30 pounds. A grand son apparently got it and was sick for a couple of days.
None of the women in our life had anything.
The good news on my Shingles adventure. I apparently got the Covid arm aka herpes zoster rash post Pfizer #1 Covid
shot. It went away after 2-3 days treatment with topical. Another friend got the rash on his stomach. They took pics and by the time he got in for a treatment shot for the Shingles it was disappearing. He had his Shingles shots, 2 years ago.
Re my Shingles Shot adventure: A retired Navy RN, was in charge of giving the scarce Shingles shots at our local PPO. She warned my wife, an RN, and I not to take the 2nd shot at the same time due to potential problems.
It was suggested that my wife should wait 7-10 days after my 2nd shot. That RN underestimated my reactions to the 2nd Shingles shot.
After my ‘love affair’ with my second Shingles shot, my wife has decided to wait awhile.

There is data from Israel that old goats like us got the Herpes Zoster/shingles after the second Covid shot.

Shingles sucks — had it along the right side of my waist — couldn’t sleep, exhaustion, pain similar to a serious flesh burn that doesn’t quit. But I’d rather risk getting it again than getting the shingles vaccine given the potential side effects. But... if shingles were a regular occurrence, I’d likely get the vaccine after some serious deliberation.
