There are many curious facts about fish sticks. The invention of this frozen food warranted a U.S. patent number, for instance: US2724651A. The record number of them stacked into a tower is 74. And, every year, a factory in Germany reportedly produces enough fish sticks to circle Earth four times.
But the most peculiar thing about fish sticks may be their mere existence. They debuted on October 2, 1953, when General Foods released them under the Birds Eye label. The breaded curiosities were part of a lineup of newly introduced rectangular foods, which included chicken sticks, ham sticks, veal sticks, eggplant sticks, and dried-lima-bean sticks. Only the fish stick survived. More than that, it thrived. In a world in which many people are wary of seafood, the fish stick spread even behind the Cold War’s Iron Curtain.

When I was growing up one of my favorite meals was fried pickled tripe.
I always thought tripe was a kind of fish. You know, tripe = trout. No one had ever told me otherwise. When my parents set me straight, around age 9, it made fried pickled tripe even better in my eyes.
I am such a wing-it in the kitchen, I am thinking something thick but not Mayo, Sour Cream perhaps cut a bit w/ milk or cream, lime juice, maybe a bit of mustard. Also I'd add a steak rub,, that I get from a High End grocer near my home that is their own blend that would make a flip flip delicious, it would come out like a South-West sauce. If you want heat, add the Sirachca.
Another way to go would be guacamole w/ the spices, lime and Salsa verde. The Salsa verde is my twist on Guac, it's probably been done before but it makes it amazing. You could put that on the shell or wrap before the other ingredients as it will hold it all in place and you get the good fat of the Avocado.
fish pingy
That makes sense, yum, mayo based or?....
creme fresh
Yummy.
Really, all posts regarding the Vice President should at least have the proper tags on it.

make a seafood salad, stuff an avocado with that, squeeze of lime...
General Foods also made Pizza Sticks - they built a new plant in Lafayette, Indiana just for Pizza Stick production.
The Pizza Stick totally failed and the plant was sold.
Its hard to eff up pizza but I have seen many pizza FAILS
pizza sticks with anchovies or with fish sticks?
“Fish sticks, salt and pepper. Maybe a slice of cheddar cheese,”
Exactly right. And as I’ve grown older, I’ve developed quite a discerning palette...now I would add tarter sauce and a pickle slice or two.
Almost 100 posts and nobody has mentioned Rain Man. That was a funny scene.
Had a friend who put some in the toaster oven, another friend came over and said lets go out to eat so he put them back in the freezer. He ate them a month later and almost died from food poisoning.
Oh it was noted, film clip included
I missed it. Thanks. I started reading the thread, got distracted then went back and missed it. 7 is pretty good. The pressure Tom was under building up to that scene made it really funny.
