How much farther to go before woke Coke hits rock bottom?
American Thinker ^ | 25 Apr, 2021 | Silvio Canto, Jr.

Some of our best paid CEOs are failing miserably to remember what a business is for.

Maybe we should call it "the pause that doesn't refresh" anymore. At least, a lot of people are saying that as they overlook Coke for something else. This is the latest from the long list of companies who listen to "the wokes" in H.R. rather than the customers who keep them in business. Check this out:

Mere weeks after going public with stern words about the new election law in Georgia, Coca-Cola has become far more muted in its corporate bellowing. Now, we know why. A new poll has come out to show more than pushback from select citizens has taken place; there is widespread rejection of the company's bold pronouncement, becoming just the latest in a growing list of companies who have suffered self-imposed, negative PR.

What a bunch of sissies, if I'm still allowed to use that word in this cancel culture.

First, they don't read the law and go on TV to repeat the talking points that the wokes gave them. Second, they run away when the cash registers stop ringing.

The question is, why do they do it? Nobody consumes a soft drink to endorse or reject a political idea. We have elections and debates to do that. We consume this or that because we like it and not much more.

When will the shareholders rise? I guess they will when the next quarterly earnings come in and their checks are a little smaller.

Once upon a time, I took business courses in school and learned that a company's mission is to make the best product or offer the best service in the market.

As Peter Drucker wrote: "The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer."

>>>I eat a lot of junk food.<<<

I would urge you to make a drastic reduction in junk food - it’s truly putting poison into your body.

The “diet soda” is just as bad.

Find healthier alternatives...and drink 50-60 ounces of water each day as a start.

Had a family get-together yesterday and made a point of having NO coke products in my house or yard (usually have all kinds of Coke - diet, caffeine-free, regular, etc.).

Not a one of my guests asked for it and no one brought it over to the house (wouldn't have been allowed). There are some lefties in the bunch so I didn't want to get started, wanted to keep things pleasant.

Doing my part to boycott companies whose public policies I do not agree with. Will not support them with my hard-earned $$.

Bottom line is the only thing these bastards understand.

My mainstay is Harney’s hot cinnamon ice tea, no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no calories. Sweet from cinnamon & cloves.
Black tea, fragrant cloves, orange peel and three types of cinnamon bark. Steeped strong, with caffeine but no added sugar.

Agreed. Diet Mtn Dew has been my mid-day caffeine delivery choice for years. I would occasionally go for a Coke Zero - no more.

Once upon a time, I took business courses in school and learned that a company's mission is to make the best product or offer the best service in the market.

B-school has obviously changed since I got my degree. I was taught the purpose of business is to maximize shareholder wealth. I suppose "best" product or service in the market falls under that since "best" has a lot of wiggle room depending on how you define "the market".

I don't think I could survive going to college today. That certainly would have nothing to do with the difficulty of the subject matter, but the shear lunacy of it.

As for companies taking political stances, it certainly violates the idea of maximizing shareholder wealth. Everything is down stream from maximizing shareholder wealth. You don't go pissing off half your customer base over something that is completely unrelated to your product.

Pepsi is at least as some as Coke unfortunately. Better off with store brands if possible

My recipe to make a gallon is 6 black tea bags, 4 green tea bags. Supposed to steep in a pot of boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Sometimes I forget and go an hour or two.

Sometimes I dump a little tube of lemonade mix in. My tastes are very unrefined.

Coke is no longer on my shopping list

I actually wrote tem a letter (I know it won't matter but it made me feel good) telling them that for the rest of my natural life I will avoid purchasing their products.

Tell her to stick with Coke. Pepsi is even more woke.

That’s ok. I only avoid the woke for my own personal integrity. Bringing down companies isn’t my aim.

Most stock prices are at highs for the year thanks to the Rats’ Project Zimbabwe economic policy. Woke Coke has announced price increases due to commodity price hyperinflation. It will take a couple of years to separate the wheat from the chaff but I’m pretty confident this company will go down in flames - production costs will keep skyrocketing but eventually they can’t raise prices much further for flavored water.

Stock is at $315. Just under the 52 week high of $317. So that’s not a problem for the aholes. Yet.

In most cases the big manufacturers make the store brands.

It appears you are correct - or he said it and every trace has been scrubbed from the Internet (unlikely).

But this is bad enough:

From Newsweek:

Karlyn Borysenko, an activist who supports banning critical race theory, shared images from an internal whistleblower of the company's online racism training. The slides included tips to learners on how to be "less white, less arrogant, less certain, less defensive, less ignorant and more humble."

"In the U.S. and other Western nations, white people are socialized to feel that they are inherently superior because they are white," one of the slides read. "Research shows that by age 3 to 4, children understand that it is better to be white."

Training slide:

Coke is furiously trying to walk it back:

Recently, we learned that content accessible through our company training platform did not align with this approach. To be clear, this was not a part of our training curriculum and we immediately removed the links to that content.

We apologize to those who were offended by this content. We would never encourage anyone to be any less of themselves.

Thing is, it WAS a part of Coke's employee training process they cannot deny it, and they knew it.

And that is certainly grounds for boycotting this evil company.

Let’s see what Coke’s second quarter earnings look like. If there is a widespread boycott, it will show up there, just like Gillette suffered a few years ago.

No more empty Coke cans in our recycles!

I wrote the Coca Cola CEO to tell him why, after over 60-years, he no longer had a customer, because I was terminally white.

After the proforma response that I would be hearing from them within 48 hours, nothing.

What a bunch of sissies, if I'm still allowed to use that word in this cancel culture.

You are allowed to use any word you want to use.

When anyone starts picking and choosing the words they use is when your right to free speech has died and is road kill.

In fact I would say to use it more than once. Use it all day and then the next day pick another word you'd love to shove down their throats.
