During this pandemic, I have known people who caught the ccp virus, and were either asymptomatic or had mild reactions, except for a co-worker.
He got it last July, and went downhill from there. He was on a ventilator, and he survived, but with many after effects.
He had to go through many months of rehab.
To make a long story short, I saw him back at work last week, he uses a walker and has a brace on his leg.
I was happy to see him and told him that I prayed for his well being and he graciously thanked me.
I knew I shouldn't pry, but I did ask a question that if he had lost his senses of taste and smell.
He said yes after he got off the ventilator and then he opened up about his experience.
He called it "quite a ride".
Well I say if the chicomm's hadn't released this virus, he would have not been in that situation.
In closing, I salute my co-worker's stoicism.
He is not bitter and has a appreciation of the value of life.
WOW...thanks for posting
Thoughts and prayers for your friend. I’m glad he survived the Chinese attack.
We have a friend of ours who was recently moved to the ICU with a deteriorationg condition. Her name is Cathy, and I’d appreciate it if prayers were given for her.
Even today we are seeing the effects of politicized medicine and science that have lead to the deaths of many thousands of Americans.
Glad your coworker pulled through. So far I have been very fortunate that neither I nor anyone in my immediate family has had it.
My 50-year old neighbor caught it in May after a business trip. He spent almost two months in the hospital on a ventilator - but survived.
His family had a huge welcome home party for him - yard signs, balloons, etc.
Two months later, he was found dead on the bathroom floor. I haven’t had a chance to talk to the family much to ask what happened and whether his death was from being on the ventilator for so long - maybe weakened his heart and lungs?
So glad your friend survived, so many people didn’t.
done
R.I.P. DG. Praying D, G, P pull through.
Glad your friend made it through. I have a friend who contracted covid in November 2020. She was on the ventilator until the beginning of March 2021. She’s now in rehab, learning to walk again. She was not obese, no underlying health issues. In fact, she was a 5 mile a day jogger.
Prayers are with Cathy.
My sister got it. She was in the hospital and was transferred to the Covid hospital. It really messed her lungs up which weren’t good anyway.
I kept finding that the people most vulnerable were also the least vigilant.
Prayers here for your friend.
My husband had covid 19in November He is neither obese nor in bad condition. He recently went into have a physical they tested his random blood glucose it was 358. Previously had not had blood sugar issues so this was quite shocking and wondering how many people are getting or have diabetes after having survived Covid.
Did he get the vaccine?
Prayers up. my friend.
About one third of Covid-19 survivors have lingering effects. Judging from the experience of SARS in the early 2000s, these effects may be permanent.
Covid-19 causes tissue damage in the heart, lungs, and other organs. It causes neurological damage.
I think that many people do not realize that a viral infection is just as physically damaging to tissues as objects such as knives, broken glass, etc. Viruses enter cells and transform them into virus producing machines, which essentially destroys the cells. We get over colds easily because they damage epithelial cells which the body replaces readily. But cells in other tissues do not regenerate as readily. Many people do not take infections seriously, because they do not understand what an infection is. And people who fail to take Covid-19 seriously do not take precautions against catching it, thereby guaranteeing that the pandemic will continue.
Oh, the Chicoms did not release the virus. Designing a pathogenic virus to have specific pandemic properties is still beyond our technology (and China stole their technology from us). Their failure was in trying to hide the outbreak instead of taking early decisive measures to contain it.
Great post. Folks need to do their own risk assessment and not fall into the trap that its not real because the media and our elected leaders have been hyping it.
Older Americans who are on the heavy side do NOT have a 98% survival rate and they can also suffer from lingering health conditions after recovery. This is a fact. They adopted a number without considering age or health condition and now we have people at high risk from the virus who think its all a scam and they have a 98% chance of recovering.
That is simplistic math and I did not want to bet my life on it so I got the vaccine based on my age and risk factors. Each person has to decide it for themselves!
So are you getting the vaccine? Anybody here getting the vaccine?
Wow, you are up late, what time is it in Beijing?
