Law enforcement officers in Chicago may soon require permission from a supervisor before they are permitted to chase suspects on foot, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said. Leftist Lightfoot promised she would disclose details "soon" about a police policy change, Fox 32 Chicago reported.

An Ewok should never be allowed to run for mayor
I’m inching my way to fiddling while Rome burns.
And burn it will.
Ask permission?
Hey Sarge? Do I have permission to chase some Trayvon with a gun in the hood at 2:00am?
No? Thanks. Didn’t think so.
Permission requests by radio can be denied, or tapes of them can be lost - if I was a cop in this day and age, I’d ask permission by certified mail. No sense putting your butt at risk.
Why in the HELL would a LEO want to chase a thug these days?
Only three outcomes:
1. Cop gets shot.
2. Thug gets shot. Cops goes on trial.
3. Thug gets caught. Out the next day.
If they say “Beetlejuice” 3 times, will that grant them permission?
Aaaaaaaand, the first time that permission is given, and a minority person dies- she will jump in and ban ALL chases from there on out
criminals will run off to their gang hideout, then arm themselves and wait for the po po to show
[[Satire is getting too close to real life.]]
We are living in a friggin twilgiht zone episode- sorry for my language- but my goodness it’s like bizarro world now- truth becomes lies, lies become the new truth- criminals get full protection, law abiding citizens get targeted for persecution by the liberal ilk in power-
I predict this change will work out just super.
The problem doesn’t appear to be the chasing
Wouldn’t they really only need to call a supervisor to ask permission to shoot?
And yes, this is entirely sarcastic towards Lori Lightbrains.
Cops should make all blacks off limits. No arrests, no traffic stops. No interference in their lives/lifestyles AT ALL. ZERO confrontations. Just walk/drive away.
Carte Noire as it were.
If asked why you aren’t doing your job, just say George Floyd or George Kirby or George Taylor or Floyd Taylor.
Why risk you life or a life in prison over some worthless POS who is going to kill themselves or get killed by some other POS anyway?
No sarc tag here. I’m as serious as COVID-19... wait.... a heart attack then.
Let’s add one addendum to the rule that cops must seek permission to chase suspects. If permission granted, a Black cop will be shipped to the scene, if none are immediately available, to pursue. Only Black cops can pursue Black suspects. This may temper the riots although statistically Black cops shoot more Black suspects than white cops. White suspects are open game. Everyone can chase white suspects. No permission needed
Please, please, please, please, please!!!! Tell me this is a joke. I can’t imagine a police officer asking a criminal if they can chase them. What does it end with? “Tag your it?”
There is a FReepathon going on!

Stupid idea, they should just allow the police to do foot patrols via zoom, it makes more sense.
So perps will have every incentive to resist arrest. That should work well.
Who said Lighthead couldn’t strike the same place twice or again and again?
