She shoulda rolled down her window to pet one of them.

Better yet, she coulda asked one of the calves if they wanted to ride in the back ...

If you ever see a corral build for bison you will notice that it is build like a cage out of Jurassic Park. Buffalo are not domestic cattle.

I used to have to feed the buffalo for a college internship program and that is when I found out I am highly allergic to buffalo. I would have died of anaphylactic shock if I had tried to live with a buffalo hunting tribe like the Sioux or the Cheyenne in the 1850s. That or they would have killed me for being diseased snot factory.

Thousands?

No.

A couple of hundred.

I wish I could see thousands of them stampeding, but where could you get those massive herds together again? Bison need huge acreages to live in big numbers.

Wasn’t this something Ted Turner was trying to do by buying up huge tracts of land in Montana and the Dakotas?

To bad the “Mouth of the South” is still all mouth.

Oh, to go back to the days when the great herds of Jackalopes inhabited the prairies.

This has to be a domestic herd being moved, as in a “cattle drive.”

This still happens even with humans still on the planet. Humans have not ruined everything. Life still goes on even with us here.

Stay upwind of bison; they stink.

“Video of bison stampede is unreal...”

A bull elephant stampede is “unreal”; the earth moves. Bison are merely pretenders. But I still wouldn’t want to be around either.

I like how they stayed (mostly) on the right side of the highway. Modern buffalo obeying the traffic rules.

That’s not a stampede.

That’s just a casual jog from point A to point B.

On sure, a hundred are cute. But now imagine a million or more animals, destroying everything in their paths, racing across the Great Plains and ask yourself, what settlements, indian or colonists, could survive such an onslaught? Not even an Iron Horse was a match - they’d run it over (the original reason men would shoot bison from trains - survival!)
