The Queen wiped away tears and was forced to mourn alone away from her family in St George's Chapel during Prince Philip's Covid-hit Windsor Castle funeral today as she said an emotional final goodbye to her 'strength and stay' after their extraordinary 73-year life together.
Her Majesty looked grief-stricken and bowed her head in reverence as she accompanied her beloved husband's coffin on its final journey while their eldest son Prince Charles cried as he walked behind the casket into church followed by other devastated royals.
The Duke of Edinburgh's coffin was covered in his personal standard and carried his sword, naval cap and a wreath of flowers with a handwritten note from his wife as pallbearers placed him on to his extraordinary self-designed green Land Rover Defender hearse in the castle's quadrangle packed with hundreds of armed personnel.

My husband said the same thing.....
...but my take is she wanted to ‘stand’ with her ‘subjects, the people’ who are being held to draconian measures and standards.
She is highly respected.
I’m supposed to care.
Mobs take comfort in numbers.
If they aren’t going to feel shame about removing somebody’s ability to feed their children, they aren’t going to feel shame about an old woman who has to attend her husband’s funeral by herself.
Royals or anyone, “it is given unto man once to die, and after this the judgement.”

The Queen was not FORCED to sit alone. She lives as an “example” to the people. And this was HER choice. To say otherwise is ignorant.
Bless her, 73 years is a long time.........
Covid: Families could be asked to pay funeral fines

Prince Philip funeral: Mourners ‘could be fined for gathering outside’
I am not a royalist, but I respect this queen. Her life has been one of duty and service to her country. Prayers for her in her time of grief.
Ditto.
Why are there still kings and queens in this world?
So far, I haven’t seen anyone being fined for placing flowers for Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle . If you have any such evidence, please share it with us will you?
It won’t, but I can think of a couple dozen funerals I’d like to cheer on this side of the pond over this perpetual fraud.
Because our psyche cries out for them. If Windsor were not available to us vicariously, we would have to go to Hollywood and hire a substitute pair today.
