Web browsers controlled by Big Tech companies often collect massive amounts of user data which can be used to create detailed profiles and track you across the web. Some, such as Microsoft’s Edge browser, even integrate technology that adds “trust ratings” and “misinformation” warnings to the links in your browser.
By switching to one of these privacy-focused browsers, you can fight back against Big Tech data harvesting by blocking ads and trackers. Not only does this protect your privacy but it often gives you a much faster and smoother user experience.
Check out the list of private web browsers below and be sure to encourage others to use them too.

Also, you will need a VPN and/or Tor. ISPs will undoubtedly sigh up to protect the world from “fake news”.
I use Brave for a browser, combined with Ad Block to block ads and Ghostery to block trackers.
Ghostery does an outstanding job of tracker blocking. The number of trackers blocked on a web page is reported by a small number by the Ghostery logo on the address bar. For example, cnn.com has 26 trackers according to Ghostery. I’ve seen web pages where the number of trackers are 60+. Wow, that’s a lot of tracking.
Another add-on I use frequently is Reader View which takes a web page and strips out all the junk, etc. Very handy for getting around pay walls.
Bump for private browsers.
Folks who report estimated earnings via the IRS web site must use Firefox. After they made this change, and weren’t public about it, I had trouble accessing the site via Brave. Finally called them on the phone and was told they support only Firefox. Strange, but it’s the IRS.
Didn't know DuckDuckGo had their own brownser. Will check out that one, but that's probably about it.
The DuckDuckGo browser is for smartphones.
Firefox
An open-source browser that blocks third-party tracking cookies, social media trackers, fingerprinting, and crypto mining by default. All of these blocking behaviors are fully customizable.
oh yeah??? since when...
If they were to waste their time, energy and money on me. I’d just have to chuckle at how pathetic that would be.
Still has to fielded by somebody for analysis. AND, once again, it would be pretty boring.
You know, I don’t regret it though. Youth is so filled with chaos, conflict... This is peaceful, tranquil...
I’m too old to be “adjusted”. And I’m old enough to have the attitude that the end isn’t all that far anyway. You just can’t scare an “old fart” with notions of death or dying.
I user Brave, DDG and TOR.....................
I have been using Brave for years on my PC and on my iPhone, along with DDG search engine. Works great for me, and I highly recommend them to fellow Freepers.
Absolutely my pleasure. Pretty cool tool all wrapped up in one secure package. And once you make one you can make more right from that one first one to share with others, it has a cloning/create tool included. I am working on installing an encrypted message/chat client to my tails stick also. So that it has that capability also when using it. :)
I fer you underestimate the power of AI. Not to mention the power it vests in people that make the decisions.
