In 11-1 vote, Minneapolis City Council opposes use of tear gas on protesters

On Friday, the Minneapolis City Council voted 11-1 to oppose the use of tear gas and other munitions as part of Minnesota's response to protesters.

Thursday night, police never ordered any of the crowd to disperse, as the crowd thinned out and was in the 20s about 90 minutes after the 10 p.m. curfew took effect in Brooklyn Center. However, the previous four nights featured law enforcement using tear gas and other less-lethal munitions on protesters.

Over 3,000 National Guard soldiers have been deployed in response to the unrest seen in Brooklyn Center after former officer Kim Potter shot and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon. The National Guard has been on standby as the Derek Chauvin murder trial has been ongoing and will head into closing arguments for the case on Monday.

They run the city. The Mayor is just a ceremonial puppet.

The NG would all be locals, so leadership probably thinks the same way as the city council. They probably need to have a lot more of the city burn down before there is an intelligent and effective response.

Any retail store front businesses in the city need to close and move out ASAP, if they have not done so already.

There are many places that would welcome their services and would give real police protection for their property if needed.

I think the “Blue Flu” or perhaps the “Blue Covid” would be in order right about now. Let’s see how well the City Counsil members do when imaginary protestors become real rioting terrorists, and impotent police stand down. Maybe someone will dox the Counsil members so that the BLM/ANTIFA rioters/arsonists/murderers can thank them personally? Might happen...

Anyone still in the cities is in for a rough patch. The suburbs are the next target.

The citizens should storm city council meetings and demand council member give up any armed security guards that they the tax payers are paying for.

Flee Minneapolis. Run for your lives!

My new neighbor quit the Minneapolis Metro Transit Police on Christmas Eve because he said knew things were only going to get worse and wanted no part of it. Now living in retirement in Prescott Valley AZ, one of the safest areas in Arizona.

Not here in California. Here, open the valve all the way and dust comes out. 1000 miles of coastline and nary a desalination plant in sight. OK we have a few. But not nearly enough of them, and they are older tech. More than 50% of Israel’s water supply (which also goes to the Palestinians) comes from desalination. They do it right. Low cost, high output and fairly simple to remove the excess brine. But I digress. Back to the riotous assembly.

There are many folks in all walks of life nearing retirement age or eligible for retirement (baby boom).

If they are not treated fairly and with respect they are gone....

Since the retirements appear to be “normal”, the talent and knowledge drain falls below the radar screen.

Tip: anti-white racism = not fair and no respect.

Fine. If they’re peaceful no gas is needed. If they’re Minnesota Brien shirts or Burgle Loot and Murder riot gangsters, gas won’t help much anyway. Warn them and then shoot
