On Monday, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks became the face of what so many other Black Americans were feeling.
Distraught at the news that yet another Black man, this time Daunte Wright, had been killed by police in a Minneapolis suburb, Hicks approached manager Aaron Boone and begged out of the night's lineup, when the Yankees were set to face the Toronto Blue Jays.
Thankfully, Boone supported Hicks, and defended him against those who inevitably would and did question Hicks' decision, telling reporters that "my consideration is with Aaron and his well-being, and making sure that as best we can we support him and try to be there for him as best we can right now."

My boss' response: "Mr. Moonlight. You're fired."
Mental exhaustion comes more readily to some people than to others.
Oh I sure hope Aaron Hicks will be OK. Because as you all should know, I worry so much about black millionaires and their petty little perceived problems.
Maybe the payback to these woke companies like Coke and their ilk is for the employees ( pretend woksters ) to just not show up because they are upset with what happened. Talk about bad optics regarding people getting fired for having a heart for social justice. It would crush these companies faster than any commercial boycott.
Then move to Zimbabwe or Nigeria where it’s a lot “safer” and leave the rest of us to heck alone.
Yahoo sucks
Nothing but Leftist agitprop
'Specially when your batting average, at .129, is twice as high as your I.Q.
"Nigga, Please!"
FEB 25 2019. Aaron Hicks Signed a 7 year $70 million contract extension with New York (NYY), including a club option for 2026
What a whiny, hypocritical little byatch he is
Oh well, I suppose that anyone can call themself a "journalist" nowadays ... just look at Fredo Cuomo
Good thing the media never reported on the WHITE woman (Justine Damond) who was murdered by a BLACK Minneapolis cop in 2017. Don't want to spoil his personal narrative.
They’ve been awful for years
During President Trump’s term it was constant Huff Po TDS over there
He thinks being black is exhausting. He should try being poor, or ugly.
Ah, the mental exhaustion of Existing While White in America. You are accused of every crime possible. You are made to bear the burden of guilt for everything any White did since the beginning of time. You are denied jobs. You pay full tuition. You are automatically guilty of racism. You have no recourse. You get attacked because of being White. You realize that demonization precedes elimination.
Anyone white living and working in select black areas, maybe in a hospital in a black area? Only people keeping racism at bay was the glorious roof Koreans almost 30 years ago.
BTW Aaron Hicks signed a $70,000,000.00 contract and making $10.5 million this year.
Yep. Most people would think $10 million a year would relieve a lot of stress.
I remember a news piece some years ago about a female figure skater from Quebec who was participating in a major competition. However, her Mom, with whom she was very close, passed away shortly before she was to go on. She went and participated anyway, doing damned well before going off to the side, apparently to bawl her eyes out with her coach. This is something I’m honestly not sure I could do.
Meanwhile, this moo-ron left a major game because of an idiot cop doing a bad shoot of somebody who he probably did not even know personally.
Unbelievable.
at 80,000 bucks per game, what a good way to stick it to the man... have a night off, still bank the bucks, and not slip any further into the dugout...
didn’t david letterman track a player who was batting miserably for the mets once... the manny factor or something...
hicks better spend his therapy time in the batting cage.
is that racist?
Sound like therapy is in order...
The ultimate for me was the Japanese Gymnast who had a broken leg, who was in the Team Gymnastics competition who nailed his dismount from the rings, to allow the Japanese men gymnasts to win the Gold Medal.
