Currently Hesitant to Take the Vaccin
Chit Chat | 4/10/21 | Vanity

Posted on 04/10/2021 10:47:38 AM PDT by week 71

There appears to be a growing dispute regarding reasons to hesitate taking the CV-19 vaccines. Many from Dr. Michael Yeardon's angle (who does not believe in immune escape) advise to not take the vaccine since there appears to be something sinister in the motives of people promoting it. While on the other side, there are many who pay attention to Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche who believes the vaccine is excellent, but due to inevitable immune escape, they will be ruining their immune system in fighting future Corona Viruses (I think that is an accurate interpretation). Both seem to be qualified doctors to give their opinions and not some clown in their parents basement making monetized fear videos.

I am not a scientist, but like being informed from many doctors' opinions with all sides. Any Freepers have input about these gentlemen? Welcome input from folks pro-vaccine as well.

Its not a vaccine. Its an experimental serum which may help alleviate the worst symptoms in some people some of the time

As a nurse, I am not taking it. I predicted months ago that there would be a large percentage of medical staff that would refuse the vaccine. Yep, I called it. There is a huge number of first responder medical personnel that are refusing the vaccine. The list includes ER doctors and nurses, paramedics and others. Just saw an article posted on FR earlier today that stated that over 50% of the military staff on one base are refusing the vaccine.

The vaccine is not FDA approved. There hasn’t been sufficient time for clinical trials. Those that are taking it now, ARE the clinical trials.

When a large number of medical personnel are refusing vaccines, that speaks of trouble. There are two saying in the medical field, when practicing medicine: 1. Trust but verify. 2. Fairly new concept, but widely held belief....”Evidence based practices”, which means it has to be proven before it is taught or used.

The vaccine has not passed the test in either one of those concepts.

I honestly still can’t figure out why so many people are so eager to take a hastily-formulated experimental vaccine to fight a virus with a 99-percent-plus recovery rate.

Because, contrary to the "spin" by some on our side, it doesn't HAVE a "99 percent plus" recovery rate.

Here in MI, the mortality rate is 2.15% (17,471 deaths divided by 812,000 confirmed positive cases). And it's about 1.8% nationally, to-date. Yeah, you can play all sorts of games (like, assume there are more cases than confirmed to increase the denominator, etc), but for the sake of argument, this is deaths attributed to COVID divided by "confirmed" cases.

But that's not the "only" thing to be worried about. A very large percentage of cases have symptoms (often serious) for months after "recovery". Some may never fully recover with permanent damage to lungs, heart, etc. Here's an article from Harvard Health on that. As the article states, 50-80% of people are reported (via published studies linked in the article) to still have COVID symptoms (sometimes severe) 3+ months after they no longer show as having COVID in their system. FWIW..

Every time some government bureaucrat jackass like Anthony Fauci shows up on TV wearing one or more face diapers and tells us we need to continue to take restrictive measures to protect ourselves even AFTER getting a vaccine, I have no reason to believe that these vaccines have any purpose whatsoever.

Anthony Fraudci has done more damage to this country during this pandemic than I an possibly list here without my fingers falling off before I complete it.

Fraudci is also wrong that the EUA vaccines stop one from getting infected. Several studies have shown that for both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which are over 90% effective, they do in fact prevent prevent one from (a)getting infected and (b)carrying the virus, transmitting ot to others.

Fraudci needs to be taken off TV which he seems to love being on. He's been far more wrong than he has right. President Trump should've fired him early on. Too bad he didn't, we'd be far, far more ahead in our battle against this virus than we are today.

Yes. Some freepers have ordered from AllDayChemist and when I first posted that online pharmacy, I searched for and found reviews of it that were good (a review board that rated online pharmacies liked this one and found nothing to fault in its performance).

Now that it has gained reputation as a site for Covid-19 meds, it’s under attack and someone said they received a dark warning from some pharmaceutical organization - anything to dissuade the public from laying hands on actual treatment!

On FReeper gave the total cost of FrontLIne Doctor’s online visit for a prescription(s) and filling them at alldaychemist and said it was roughly $150 total.

Pfizer 2-shot regimen completed here .. Wifey and I are good to go .. minimal side effects for both, as cruisers it’s a relief , I was one preferring to wait for J&J or other one-shot vaccination but now that we did it, hopefully boosters won’t be required anytime soon.

It’s a personal choice. Just like the one Gov. Cuomo made to move folks around. Some backfire .. some don’t. No guarantees as to which may occur these days. Good luck.

As does malaria, sometimes for years.

You don't see people shutting down the world over it.

I see you're in Michigan with Governor Whitless calling the shots. Good luck.

Utterly fascinating. I didn’t know that existed. Will go get the test Monday.
Hope I have antibodies because I am NOT going to get a vax.

Lol! No pearl clenching here FRiend. I have very little risk being in my forties with no health conditions and decided last year I do not need a jab. I mis-titled. with a spelling error (sigh) the thread. (I own that). Wanted input about the Doctors - which got lost due to the subject matter I guess. That said, have loved seeing the discussion about this issue. Cheers!

My doctor recommended I get either of the Phizer or Moderna vaccines. He was also OK with J&J.

Best to consult with your doctor on matters like this.

Getting the Chinus is like getting polio - a crapshoot. Most who got polio had a minor case, yet you didn’t know if it would put you in crutches or in an iron lung for the rest of your life. You never know if that COVID case just gives you the sniffles or puts you in the hospital fighting to breathe.

I work for a major healthcare system in the Southeast. After 3+ months of availability to our close to 40K employees only 57% have had at least one shot.

I know this because this information was revealed in a delightful Friday afternoon email to our organization from our CEO. To say that the email was heavy-handed and coercive would be putting it mildly. Leadership is shocked, confused and apoplectic that so few of its prestigious front line workers have willingly submitted to experimental jabbing.

I’m rather enjoying watching the executive meltdowns. They just can’t understand why we aren’t all 100% onboard with “crossing the finish line”.

Yep, that was what was going on in my area just with the annual flu vaccine.

Many of the front line nurses were refusing the flu shot. At first the hospitals were telling the nurses that they were mandated to take the shot or get fired. The nurses all said “Okay, go ahead and fire us!” With the nursing shortage raging, and with the nurses being able to collect unemployment against their employer, the admin suddenly discovered that they were going to lose a huge number of nurses. This would have forced the hospitals to close down wings of hospitals. The admin suddenly was rethinking their decision.

It is ingrained in you during nursing school to be an advocate for your patient. Do the hospitals think that you won’t be an advocate for yourself as well?
