In the former Soviet Union, nearly every decision people made -- from their jobs to their hobbies to their clothing -- was politicized. Personal choices that were insufficiently collectivist for Communist Party officials negatively impacted careers, housing, and rations, which were allocated by political pull and socialist virtue-signaling rather than merit. Some decisions, such as starting a small business or storing some extra food, could result in the gulag or a firing squad. The personal was the political.
I am concerned that the U.S. is trending in this direction, where many aspects of life are politicized. Americans are more politically polarized than at any point in my lifetime. The mainstream media, whose business model exploits and fosters division, deserves much of the blame. Yet American companies are on the verge of taking a sledgehammer to the wedge that divides us by increasingly and unnecessarily taking positions on controversial political issues. Speaking out this way threatens to transform their customers' daily decisions -- including what sport to watch, what soda to drink, and what airline to fly -- into political ones.
Consider the recent actions by certain Georgia-based businesses, including Delta and Coca-Cola, to oppose the state's new law that brings voting practices in line with those in other states. Their statements of opposition generally imply that the law's provisions, including requiring identification to vote, are racist. This is the most highly politicized charge one can make in the country today. Major League Baseball pulled the All-Star Game from Atlanta to show its opposition, stating the move is "the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport."
Americans should expect this kind of spin from politicians,

These companies are idiots to dismiss the half of society that tends to have a job.
How about the next time the Rs seize power they INCREASE rather than decrease the corporate tax rate until these globalists swear allegiance to America and her people.
It “pays” to suck up to a regime doling out trillions and that uses the deep state agencies to persecute the unfaithful with the help of the enemedia, big tech, and BLMAF
Freedom loving financial institutions and freedom friendly companies what are they and do they exist anywhere?
Doesn't that depend on who wins the war between the freedom-loving patriots and the Woke Establishment?
These companies are picking sides early because they believe that will give them an advantage.
You know that’ll never happen. Most R’s are happy members of the Deep State/Establishment.
Exactly, the ruling Rs are strapped into the Chamber of Commerce echo chamber.
Most “freedom-loving companies are small businesses” and they are being killed by the lockdowns where possible.
The only hope for our country is for its freedom-loving patriots of all colors, religions, and ethnic origins to rise up against the Ruling Establishment which is hell-bent on our becoming a communist country with them in the driver’s seat.
True, but what does that now involve? I can guarantee you the ballot box is a worthless cause.
The problem is that they employ a large portion of those people. I work for one of these woke organizations, and while pro-America sentiment seems to be the norm among the workers, we stay very quiet and keep our heads down.
I personally don't discuss the taboo 3 (politics, religion, and sex) in polite company, and I think the problem with American society is that it's no longer considered taboo to air your personal beliefs on those subjects in public forums such as social media. To boot, as long as you fall on the woke side of the aisle, you're emboldened to speak out and bash those who aren't.
At this point, I'm just keeping my head down, doing my job, and praying they don't start with this vaccine BS in my org. I'm not holding out hope for that, though.
The only power we patriots have is our buying power, our voices, and, ultimately, our lives.
I think we can all see what must happen if we are to prevent this communist coup from moving to completion.
At this point, we need leaders who are willing to speak out. I think the rank and file see the situation clearly and are ready to follow.
They Hope their virtue signaling won’t cause a revolt. They’re also probably getting pressure from the White House to do it
The Republic has been made captive to the elite billionaire businessmen and millionaires in Congre$$.
It’s also massively unfair to their employees, many of whom probably do not agree with their “wokeness,” but are forced to remain silent or even to publicly support it. In addition, these hapless lower-level employees are usually the public face of the company and are held responsible by the public for the company’s policies.
I think there perhaps could be some kind of lawsuit filed by employees who can show that they have been forced by their employer to participate in political activities of which they do not approve. Certainly at the time most of them were hired, this politicization was not in effect.
.
let them out themselves. so much easier to spot the enemy when they come out in the sunlight.
I started a ban list 25 years ago and it’s now over 50 pages.

Coke, Delta Air, and even MLB are looking to China for growth and have partnered with companies controlled by the CCP.
